Emmy and Tony Award-winning singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth will bring her boundless talent and charisma to London's Palladium on October 20th 2017 for an unforgettable evening of songs.
I would have guessed a sizable chunk of her fans are of the younger variety (Glee/Wicked type demographic) - can they really afford the tickets?
In answer to that, if people in those age bands couldnt then so many concerts by the likes of Bieber and Little Mix would be virtually empty and they certainly wouldnt shift many of the meet and greet packages they sell at 300 or 400 pounds each. Similar story here I suspect
Cheeky question, but has anyone heard of any discounts for Kristin's concert? Friday is approaching and it's still not completely sold out, quite a few seats on all levels, but the prices are ridiculous - 60 for standing room at the back of the stalls..?

Intermission here! So far she has sung "Should I Be Sweet", "I get along without you very well", "Zing! Went the strings of my heart", "Moon River", some JRB song, a very abridged "I could have danced all night", and "upon this rock" with some teenagers from Arts Educational School.
She's lovely and funny - if not a bit cheesy - and looks fabulous in her dress. Gorgeous voice as one would expect. Elaine Paige and Jennifer Holliday are in the house, she introduced them very fondly, I got goosebumps but neither sang, they're just in the audience. I wonder who the guests will be...

Second part songlist included: "Popular", "For Good" (duet with Rachel Tucker, who apparently didn't know this would have happened and eventually got a standing ovation), "In Your Eyes", "Love Somebody Now", "Taylor, the latte boy", an "Always on my mind" and "Losing My Mind" mashup, "All the things you are", some song about hope with the AES kids and "Smile" as an encore.
She's really a great entertainer and looked sincerely overwhelmed. She cries A LOT. I'm glad I saw it, especially at the Time Out's half price for the center of the Upper Circle, which offers a surprisingly good view.
Lots of fun but does she have to feign being moved by every single "itty bitty" thing -- her show biz veneer was all the more apparent conjoined with Rachel T's total and unaffected sincerity. Still, it was a fun evening and KC's best line was at the end of act one before she sang her big faith-based number, prior to which she assured any non-believers in the crowd that it [the song] was "only four minutes".
By the way, was Jennifer Holliday actually there?? KC was scanning the house for her after announcing her presence but no one seemed to respond. (The banter with Ms Paige subsided early on, thank god, since those are two performers who couldn't be less alike in every conceivable way.)
This was great fun. I must admit that we only went because they started offering comps on Wednesday. I normally get bored when musical theatre performers do this kind of concert but since the tickets were free we decided to give it a go. It was six of us and we all loved it and were really glad we went.
She's not only a fantastic singer but also a great entertainer and yes, a few bits were a bit cheesy but we all fell in love with her. Loved her version of Moon River. I was surprised when she did Bringing Him Home, didn't think it would work with a female voice but it did and it was quite wonderful. Overall it was a really great night. Pity it was only one night. I would happily go and see this again and really hope she will perform in London again at some point.

I am curious to know if you would have paid £90 to see her? I wrestled with my conscience but decided against it. I am also curious about the six comps; etiquette still probably demands discretion but there appeared to be very little availability up to the day of the concert. I am aware of "keeps", "holds" and "house seats" and had thought these might be released online which begs the question how much of the house was papered? As an ex-Theatre professional I was lucky enough to get comps for everything in the West End and also know that nothing is ever "sold out". Can't quite believe I passed on a comp to see KC at the Donmar (pre-Wicked) as I wasn't fond of her squeaky voice.......
Really enjoyed this. Yes, a little cheesy in places but I think you have to appreciate that she’s putting on a show. There were enough moments of genuine sincerity for me. Great fun and some special performances; For Good with Ms Tucker was a highlight, as was Taylor the Latte Boy (for me, anyway, I’ve never seen her live before). And Smile as the encore, without a mic, was just lovely. I can add Bonnie Langford to the spotted-in-the-audience list! I thought it was a wonderful evening and all the more special because it was a one-off. Agree it was overpriced though.
She does a stunning version of I Will Always Love You (obviously in Dolly style!), I would of been a tad dissapointed if that didnt make an appearance.
Thanks for the reports everyone! I think if I'd been in London I'd have gone along but could't justify those ticket prices and travel/accommodation. But it does sound like a great night!
I'm weirdly pleased she sang 'Taylor the Latte Boy'

I would pay £90 to see her again if she performs with a full orchestra. She was really wonderful, but £90 with just a piano is a bit too much.
About the comps, you know that we are supposed to be discreet and not reveal the sources. Like you I'm an ex-Theatre profesional and still have some contacts. I'm also a member of different theatre clubs. In the case of this concert I originally got offered 2 comps which is the norm. However on Wednesday I got offered more and was told I could have as many as I wanted. My guess in this case is that probably some agencies returned lots of tickets and the producers decided to give them away instead of having blocks of empty seats, but I can't be sure...
