Have you lost your mind Burly? COLLABRO! Y’know off of the telly! You can be on the same boat as them for some money!! Nope? 😂🙄 I was in the same room as them a couple of weeks ago and you’d have to pay ME to see that lot again! Did you see them on purpose or purely by accident?

£1500 for a 4 day cruise with only 1 port of call seems awfully pricy to me. This summer we paid £1500 each for a 12 day cruise that visited 6 Baltic ports. Okay we didn't have the same level of entertainment but still, especially as I'm someone who doesn't enjoy actually being on cruise ships & only puts up with it for the sake of the places visited.

The price is definitely putting me off, especially as I've seen most of the current acts previously anyway. I might put a pin in the idea for now 😁
Thank you all for your input though!

Damn, don't know what I did above but my rambling has intertwined with yours robertb213! Haha! Thanks for the comments though. I might hold out a bit longer longer and see if another big name hooks me in. I think I would enjoy it and I kinda want to do it as a confidence-boosting self-development sort of thing as much as for the musicals. I'd be looking at around £1500 at least though which for 5 days is pretty steep... 😲 Wow! I didn't realise the single supplement was that much! I think I'm £600 each for mine - albeit that daughter is being dragged against her will.

The only way I'd get on that ship would be to throw Alfie Boe and Katharine Jenkins off it!

After hearing my sons experience of cruises- novovirus, sea sickness & ships breaking down - I don't think I would go on one even if I could afford it.

A floating prison. When they let you out for the day, do they have Serco guards tag you.

Just come back from a cruise holiday - Roger “Lion King” Wright was one of the entertainers and very good he was too. Makes me think this would be good fun except for the hardcore fans who would be terrifying!

There was a woman sitting next to me at the Jeremy Jordan concert who had travelled down from South Yorkshire who told me that she was going on this cruise wth her sister.

How times change, BurlyBeaR. How times change. It was only a few years ago that folk from the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire were happy with a week in a 'van at Skeg Vegas.

We were a Butlins family, until they started to go upmarket...or was it downmarket?
It's that long ago, they were only summer camps in those days and, being cheap, we always went the first week of re-opening. The dodgems began the week going really, really slowly, then got faster and faster as the week went on.

I'm going and really looking forward to it. I'm going too - a group of 14 of us actually so that will be the fun bit for me. That and the fact we've taken the drinks package. I'm a tad scared at how geeky it's going to be but ho hum, it's my 45th or so cruise so I know the score. It's nothing like people think it is - and the ones I choose are not expensive either. I've just had 8 nights on a Cunard one for £522. See you there!

Possibly against my better judgement as I'm going on my own, but I had no other holidays planned this year so decided to throw caution to the wind. If either of you see someone sat on their own at the bar, please say hi, it may well be me!

Or I could get a slap for asking everyone on their own if they are from Theatreboard! I will definitely say hi, I went on a cruise on my own once and it can be a lonely experience but I think this one will be very friendly.

I've read some reviews on Facebook, mainly from Michael Ball fans who raved about it (wouldn't have expected anything else). Saw comments about long queues though.
2019 is, apparently, Alfie Boe and Sheridan Smith. From what I saw on Facebook, can't see anything anywhere else. Also saw that there's like 50% sold already.

I’d also like to know what kind of audience it pulled in and very importantly what the meals were like. Or rather mealtimes. Was it a scrum for the chicken drumsticks?

Collabro also confirmed as signed up again for 2019 (unsurprisingly as they share management with Stages) - and yes, many people re-booked for next year before leaving the ship. I wasn't among them - I thoroughly enjoyed this year's festival but next year's line-up isn't selling itself to me at the moment!

Welllll! I LOVED it! I'm not a Michael Ball, Lee Mead or Collabro fan to be honest but went with a group of friends and it exceeded all our expectations. I thought it was a tad overpriced when I booked but wow, for what we got onboard it was a bargain, no expense spared. Highlights for me were John Owen Jones, Cassidy Janson and Showstopper The Improvised Musical. Michael Ball was very good, Lee Mead was pretty damned average with nil personality, Kerry Ellis was possibly the best I've seen her, Collabro were pretty awful to be honest - all over the place. Christina Bianco was an absolute joy and who the hell was Perry Grant!!! He almost stole the show from all of them! The campest act I have ever seen but absolutely hilaaaarious! Finally, who knew Bobby Davro was funny!?!?! I was crying with laughter - very unexpected. We have all booked up for next year even though they have only announced Alfie Boe, Sheridan Smith and Collabro so far, I'm sure they will add many others like they did this year. Oh, and I went to audiences with Arlene Phillips and Don Black - really interesting. Yes, the queues were pretty bad for the shows a couple of times but considering this was their first attempt at doing this they did really well - we always got a seat. Apart from the guest entertainers, the food etc was normal cruise ship food - very good! The only normal cruise ship entertainment left over from normal Royal Caribbean cruises was the ice show - a real delight. All this for £599? A steal.
