I loved this on Broadway so will definitely be going to see it over here.

Guys and Dolls is booking until 30th October, so maybe it could go to the Phoenix if G&D doesn't extend? I feel like Guys & Dolls won't extend again, so I think this could be likely as New London is supposedly making space for Hamilton and Mackintosh plans on filling the Victoria Palace with Mary Poppins! But I think the Dominion is a viable option as well

I do recall before this was confirmed to go to Broadway instead, the Palladium was looked at as the potential theatre. I personally think this would struggle though if it went into one of the larger theatres.

I thoroughly enjoyed this in New York last year, so very happy to hear that it's heading our way (just happy from a bank balance perspective that it's not until next year!)

I'm delighted this has officially been confirmed for a London transfer! I've fallen in love with the Broadway soundtrack. My only niggle is that I'll have to wait until next year but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

I suspect it will go to the Dominion. It's produced by Weinstein and he won't want to do a cut down version here to fit into the Aldwych, Phoenix etc.,
If it does come here I hope its redesigned- it's one pig ugly show. Hopefully LMK will do it here- she was lovely in it.

After seeing the first version of Finding Neverland at the Curve back in 2012 I'm not sure whether I want to see the second version. I really liked much of the first score & I was quite annoyed that it was unceremoniously ditched. I'm not sure I fancy Gary Barlow's take, which from what I've heard is pop-ier.

Good to hear it's not just me who liked the Curve version. Sometimes I feel like it was just me, I saw the first preview and the last night so it was interesting seeing how much had changed. I haven't liked much of what I've seen and heard of the Broadway version. I guess casting is what will be able to draw me to seeing it in London.

There are a couple of good new numbers in the show.. But it's still a troubled show. It doesn't quite work .

I too saw it twice at the Curve, though not as far apart as you. I saw it, I think, a couple of weeks into the run, and then again a few days before the end of the run to see the understudies for the two main characters. However even seeing it a couple of weeks apart the first 10 minutes or so of Act 1 had been totally re-organised. I still didn't think they got the piece right at the Curve but I felt the problems were with the book more than the music, hence I was annoyed when they ditched the music. Yes, I agree, if they cast people I really like then I might be tempted to see it.

I saw it at Curve and was dreadfully bored. It was pretty to look at, but the score was weak and the show failed to capture the emotional beauty of the film, which makes me sob every time I watch it.
I wasn't too thrilled about the new version, although I do like "All That Matters" and "Stronger. And also the way Tony Yasbek looks in a beard.
Has there ever been such a case when a creative (writing) team is completely fired and a new writing team gets commissioned? It happens all the time with director, sets, costumes, but I swear I can't remember another case of the entire score and script being thrown out of the tub.

What casting would people like to see for J.M Barrie and Sylvis Lllewelyn Davies?
I know for sure I'd pay good money to see Laura Michelle Kelly or Rosalie Craig as Sylvia. And speaking of Rosalie, I can actually picture her husband Hadley Fraser as J.M. Barrie.

But then again, I'm not even sure if it'll ever happen.

Well Darius Campbell is rather dashing & brilliant in 'Funny Girl' & with that ending in October that would be perfect timing!! He's Scottish too & just imagine him with a beard aka Matthew Morrison lads ?

Just bring Jeremy Jordan over. Make up for not giving him the Broadway role. I'd love to see and hear him live.

I also feel that this role requires a bonafide musical theatre triple threat, which although he is okay for some roles, this role requires some heavy lead male lifting.

I saw him in Eternity and wooden would not begin to tell it Somehow I cannot see him singing the first Act finale. It has to be powerful. It is the best number in the show.

James McEvoy could be an interesting choice for J.M. Barrie. I would like to see Douglas Hodge as Frohman and Liz Robertson as Mrs DuMaurier.

And if Laura Michelle Kelly does not come over then Laura Pitt Pulford for Sylvia.

Interesting. I honestly don't think he's a right fit either. I feel that the score requires someone who is a bit more "pop" than Mr. Alfie. Another hottie in the role, though.

Have to say Alfie Boe doesn't seem right for this in my eyes. Happy to be proven wrong but I can't see myself rushing to get tickets if this turns out to be true. On the other hand there will be plenty of opportunities to see his understudy if his attendance rate remains the same as in Les Mis. ;-)

This seems an odd fit to me. As has been said, the score is very 'pop' and wouldn't seem to suit his voice at all and also he is older than the type of casting they seem to have gone for so far. I'd be happy to be proved wrong of course but something doesn't excite me about this if true, and i'm someone who has been very excited about it coming over.
Out of interest, what is this website the rumour has started on? Is it a well known/respected outlet that has this kind of news often and is usually legit?

I personally wouldn't like Boe in the role. It just doesn't 'click' for me. His fans are also a scary bunch (some of them) and likely to, ahem, dominate things.
I'd love Darius actually having just seen him in Funny Girl.

Boe has all the charisma of an MDF side table. Bad choice .

Just asked Baz and he says he doesn't know if it's true or who they have got but they definitely have someone already lined up...

Maybe by getting Alfie Boe in they're hoping to somehow "legitimise" the poppiness of the score, if you will. Can't say it's the sort of casting choice that'll get me through the doors, but given his fanbase, I doubt they'll miss me!

I don't think they should try and legitimise it. The score is the score. It's different, it's more modern. I like the songs personally and don't think they should try and change it.

Hmm, interesting choice if it's true. I don't think Alfie Boe would be too old, he looks a little "old" as Valjean but would probably look younger as Barrie. I also think his "Neverland" would be dreamy. Doesn't seem as weird a choice as Josh Groban doing Pierre on Broadway in the War and Peace-pop musical.
That said, I also don't really think he'd be right for the role, I can't put my finger on it why. Be happy to give him a chance though. I enjoyed the show in New York (didn't see Morrison though, his understudy was on).
