Currently filming in Oxford... Fergal McGoff who is currently in Matilda London tweeted that he was filming something special in Oxford today so I'll assume it was for this I've now just checked and it wasn't a tweet but was on his Instagram story

7 films over the last 13 years, the last being 2011. Not exactly Hollywood. It is becoming a lot more common though, as mentioned above. That article is 2 years old. I'm sure you can be a rather thrifty bear when required too. Non-brand porridge oats when times are tough? I always save my pennies for the finest quality honey to go on top though 😋

I'm going out on a limb here but predicting the songs When I Kissed The Teacher and Under Attack will be included in this film.

Genuinley had no idea about that when I posted that. And I hadn't seen any of those pics!
Spooky, eh?

It always seemed like a pre-cursor to 'The Day Before You Came'; the same vaguely tragic melancholy. I shall have to listen to it on the way to work tomorrow.

Or Rock Me I also am anticipating Fernando to pop up. A romantic encounter, round a campfire.....

I hear ya (see what I did there?). But seriously, in terms of the plot throughout the film Donna has to have three romantic encounters, presumably Sam first so they can plan out the hotel on the napkin, so he can leave the scene to go off and break it off with his other girlfriend, thus enabling her to move to to her next encounter with either Harry or Bill, before Sam arrives back to find this out- I'm thinking Angeleyes,or On and On and On. And as they've already used S.O.S. in the first film, I reckon they'll use either So Long (Farewell) or Hasta Mañana. Or even The King Has Lost His Crown. At some point I also predict that as she breaks up with one of them they'll shoehorn in One Of Us and one of the guys will sing Why Did It Have To Be Me? (Obviously) she'll discover that she's pregnant. They may even include Donna's mother kicking her out upon hearing the news. They'll have to show how Harry was a punk rocker and got the name Headbanger- Hole in Your Soul. They may even touch on him realising that he's gay. Or how Donna ended up in Greece (Tropical Loveland) working for Bill's Aunt Sophia. (I clearly know this first film too well!) Who knows, you may even get a glimpse of Tanya's first hubby. Bet you it'll end with Sophie and Sky find out that they're pregnant.

Looks like the prequel part will be the most important part of plot.
Maybe the original cast (Streep, Firth, Brosnan) will not have leading roles like the first and the big beta are the young actors and Sophie and Sky... But the sequel part have more interest in my opinion. We know the story about young Donna and three dads. No more info we can know, only who is Sophie's dad ??
Abba have more song that are very good: Angel eyes ,One of us, Hasta mañana , Knowing me Knowing you, Fernando, Dance , Happy New Year , When I kiss the teacher...

Well "One Of Us" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You" are already in Mamma Mia! Not the film! In additon The Name of the Game, Under Attack and Thank You For The Music all appear in the sage show but were cut from the film, with Thank You For The Music appearing in the end credits. When All Is Said And Done that is not in the stage show was added for the film.

Every drama lecturer in the country would turn themself inside out to tell you that it didn't matter! It's about the journey not the reveal...

Am I the only one who always just assumed Sam was the Dad? Probably. The musical/film made it perfectly clear that she never really had a damn clue who was responsible for setting the entire plot in motion. Sam was her "real love" though, which is why (apart from the fact one of the other potentials was copping off with Julie Walters and the other was gay) she Donna ended up with him. Real love or "sod it, that'll do", who knows. What's the betting that the ending actually isn't that Sophie is pregnant with Sky's kid, but actually Pepper's..? Or maybe she doesn't know.. which will cue the next sequel in 20 years time with Donna Jr (Sophie's daughter) has a summer holiday in Brighton (during which they time travel to 1974 and come back via Waterloo) and, well, continues the cycle. Even as someone who enjoyed the first film - this sequel is jumping the shark, so the plot may as well match it.

Those pictures actually look like great fun! Nice idea to have their younger versions doing some scenes.

This morning, Benny Andersson confirmed 3 songs that are definitely in the new film. Angel Eyes, I Wonder, When I Kissed The Teacher.
I know the first 2, never heard of When I Kissed The Teacher.

On a separate point when Benny was on the One Show last night publicising his Piano album out on Friday he mentioned the new film is a prequel and sequel in that it covers pre Mamma Mia ,hence the young characters and also post Mamma Mia hence the existing cast from the original film.

Thanks for the heads up on the new album. Got very excited until I heard a few extracts on Youtube... Stripped bare like that, they really don't appeal to me, I'm afraid. All super tunes (I love his Story of a Heart CD) but for me it's the arrangements and production that make them.

Yes I know what you mean , you cannot beat the original arrangement and production but I guess some may enjoy the stripped back nature.
