I think I'm the only one who would rather see Charles as King than William. #Aussie Only because I want Queen Camilla. She's just glorious.

I think I'm the only one who would rather see Charles as King than William. #Aussie I want Charles first then William. That's the order of succession and, unless Prince Charles predeceases the Queen, the order it should be. It's not as if Prince Charles is likely to get that long on the throne anyway so people who don't like him can just put up with it for a few years!

As an elder-Milennial who was something of a tart in her younger days and did not give a damn her hair, I am quite unironically fond of Camilla. I can wait a few years for King William and Queen Catherine.

I like Camilla too. Shame Charlie-boy couldn't just marry her to start with.
Diana's funeral wasn't officially a public holiday, IIRC, but the public hysteria about it made lots of places close anyway - as a sign of 'respect', which annoyed some people who lost a day's pay/holiday for it. I remember the complaints - on both sides.

My main memories of Diana's death are:
1) Being just about to leave to see Lucky Stiff at the Bridewell and getting a call to say it was cancelled, presumably because of the title and subject matter.
2) Someone commenting on the media coverage of the event: Diana latest: Yep. Still dead.
