Wasn't quite sure where to put this but on Thursday 11 May BBC Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night is recording a celebration of BK's 50 years in showbiz at the Palladium. Bit of a mixed bag of a line-up, but could be fun... more info and ticket buying link:
I was there tonight. It was amazing, lasted nearly three hours but I still didn't want it to end. So many great voices, funny stories, wonderful orchestra all finished off with Tommy Steele singing Thank You Very Much.
As you would expect both Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber were part of the show, along with Don Black who presented it.
The audience was very appreciative and there were a lot of standing ovations even though this is a radio show. Joe McElderry was brilliant singing a song from Joseph and Glen Carter sang Gethsemane beautifully.
I have been to a few Friday Night is Music Nights now and without exception they have all been terrific so if you have a chance to attend one of these shows go for it.
