I dont really know who Amber Riley is as I gave up on Glee a long time ago when they stopped doing musical theatre numbers and I didnt know any of the other songs as I dont listen to "popular" music these days. But looking forward to seeing Dreamgirls no matter who is in it as its one of the musicals I have been looking forward to for a long time. The Savoy seems to be the place to have "must see" musicals at the moment.

A continuation of the speculation! Pretty sure there's no thread - please merge if there is! Baz has some news tonight, apparently... I don't care who plays Deena so long as it's not Alexandra Barf. They had better wear these dresses in the show though. Or I'll be storming the stage.

Well she was Mercedes and in it from the first episode so you must have seen her! Ah yes, that rings a bell now. I think I have tried to block the memory of Glee from my mind after going to see Glee live at the o2 a few years ago. Paid a fortune and they were on stage for about 55 minutes in total. Also everyone stood up the whole time so I either had to stand as well or not see anything and the campest teenage boy I have ever seen was next to me and he literally screamed at the top of his voice the whole time. God I sound old and grumpy......................

Abiona Omonua impressed in Color Purple and Dessa Rose. Minor roles. I'd love to see her in this.

Guessing from Amber, I would guess it would be a younger bunch of Dreams. Can't wait for this.

Funny how opinions differ, I loved the Glee concert at the O2 - it was a birthday treat and had a great night (they shot out cannons of t-shirts just before 'Born this Way' and one landed at my feet was 'Likes Boys') we went to the American bar after (now ALL Bar One) and danced till late to Glee songs!! Great news about Amber, this is now on my list (wasn't before this casting news)!!

I got a few odd looks from people wondering if I had forgotten to bring the grandchildren

Well the Savoy site says tickets available mid March, so unless March suddenly has 36 days in it, they're late.

The website doesn't specify a year, does it? So mid-march 2017 it is then

Is this saying opening in mid March or booking until mid March?
Don't really anticipate that this will run that long, same kind of run as Women on a Verge......

Savoy site says tickets will be available mid-March. It's mid-March now. As radio said above, that's not the official savoy web-site, it's a ticket agency that is trying to flog tickets. They've registered loads of theatre domains to do so.

Can this be confirmed? It's linked on the show's Facebook. How can they get away with it?

I'm not on Facebook, so which site are you talking about? www.savoytheatre.org/dreamgirls/ => says tickets on sale mid-march, but is not official, as they say themselves under "about us": www.dreamgirlswestend.com/ => official show page, says tickets on sale spring 2016, i.e. at some time between tomorrow and 19th June. Not sure if the Savoy Theatre even has an own official web site (maybe apart from a sub-site on atgtickets.com).

Facebook: www.facebook.com/DreamgirlsLDN/?fref=nfwww.dreamgirlswestend.com seems pretty official to me. At the bottom it says it's designed by AKA, which is the "other" creative agency that does all the advertising and marketing work for musicals in London. They did the Billy Elliot and Matilda brands and run their campaigns.
