It's getting pretty good reviews - mainly 4 star.

Happy to see those reviews as due to ASLEF strikes, I had to choose between driving there and back, missing out, or forking out for a hotel, and I chose the hotel option. Now the strikes have been called off, which was always a possibility, but I couldn't take the risk and accommodation was already very booked up and the remaining rooms very expensive. Means what would have been a reasonably-priced day trip will instead cost almost as much as a cheap weekend break, but at least I won't be distracted during the performance by concerns about having to run for the last train - and indeed whether the train itself is running.

Will this transfer to the West End? Is Omid Djalili a big enough name to sell tickets?

Does anyone know what the running time is please? 2hr 45 inc interval Ta I thought it was about that, except one of the reviews said 3 hours and I need to catch a train back to London to see Girl From The North Country in the Evening.

As I understand it, it's been staged with a false proscenium arch, which surely has transfer written all over it (not literally, of course).

With a notable name leading this musical. Decent reviews Popular Show A Very Good Production False Arch
This has legs, it will either transfer to one on London's smaller theatre in an open run or play the London Colesium or Palladium for a limited run next year.

Decent reviews? I just read from The Stage that it was an unimaginative disappointment! I also didn't like the Liverpool Everyman version either...

She said 'unimaginative' but still gave it three stars. That's definitely the least appreciative review to come out so far but she does use the word 'samey' which is irritating, so I feel like we should just ignore this one.

Beloved of sea-front chip retailers from Shoreham to Hove... They surely don't eat deep fried potatoes in Hove actually, do they?

Saw this on Tuesday evening. I have seen this musical many times before it being one of my favourite scores. To be honest I have heard it sung better but overall it was very enjoyable. They have added a few different touches which is good to see and it was a completely full house.

Saw this yesterday evening, never having seen a previous production. It was fine, but I actually found the score a little disappointing (only about 2 memorable numbers, and those were already very familiar), and unless a future production received exceptional reviews, I can't imagine ever wishing to see another.

Both current productions at CFT are officially 2 hours 45 mins long, but last night Fiddler finished at 10.20 pm, i.e.5 mins later than you'd expect from the length.

Don't forget it's Glorious Goodwood, so extra time will probably be needed in both directions. Oh poo, I always do! We'll be pushing our luck to make the second show in that case. I assume you are driving? As you would never make Newbury by public transport in 1hr 45. So at the curtain call it will be worth your while hoovering at the exit and get the hell out of the theatre to avoid being stuck in the car park for half hour with every other theatre goer who is trying to use the same exit, it quickly becomes gridlocked!!!! Also in the interval if you are parked for from the theatre i.e. the other side, it can be worth seeing if a shopper has vacated a car parking spot, closer to the theatre and move your vehicle to the more favourable position. You should do it just looked on Google Maps and it said Journey time 1hr 27 and good thing you should be heading on the A27M27 towards Southampton, so heading away from Goodwood But saying that I hope you make the show and enjoy it. Oh yeah if you need a toilet do this on the way in a petrol station, don't get caught up in the Chichester mayhem, even quite a bit of traffic getting out of Chichester and will be extra from Goodwood - once passed Chichester town hopefully you be motoring.
