Thanks for the reassurance. They keep sending emails saying it'll be no later than 5 days before, now they've sent one saying 3! Why do they insist on this stress? I booked it months ago!

Finally getting to see a recording of the News Quiz.
Taking place in the Shaw Theatre Euston, first time visit and quite impressed, not sure why it hardly ever has anything scheduled, the Jermyn St season unveiled yesterday would fit in here perfectly.

Yes, the Shaw Theatre is a real puzzle, isn't it? Though @theatremonkey may be able to shed some light on the issue. I haven't been to anything there for years though I have seen a few things there at intervals over several decades and think the last was a concert by a US country star. I have no idea why what seems so ideal a theatre is apparently so little-used; it can hardly be the location as though it is well away from the West End, other venues which also are continue nevetheless to thrive and with the right programming people will travel. Maybe there is some planning restriction in place but whatever the reason, it seems to result in a great loss of potential income.

Trying to cross Shaftesbury Ave last night, I decided it was wise to wait for a green signal at a pelican crossing. A guy behind me (60ish) said "Come on, we could go". It was only as I said "actually there's a car moving" that I realised he'd put both hands on my hips in an attempt to (gently) nudge me forward. I said "Please don't touch me like that" and the lady he was with announced that he'd been told about that before. Now I'm totally sure that his only intention was to persuade me to cross so that he could move too. But as I went on my way I had a fresh understanding of why people who have worse experiences just freeze..it took me a few seconds to process what he was doing. Shame I didn't have a Thatcher style handbag.

I hate people who are all touchy. I used to do backstage work at a local theatre and there was someone else on the crew who used to hold you as he squeezed past, and it made my skin crawl. I don't know why anyone thinks that's an acceptable thing to do.
When I have to pass someone I do it like they're made of antimatter.

My* exhaust started rattling loudly today. Had to stop off at a garden centre to buy some strong wire to loop round it in case it fell off. You really notice how bumpy the roads are when every one results in ominous clangs and clonks.
* To be strictly accurate, my car's exhaust. My own exhaust rarely rattles, and almost never needs to be tied on with wire.

I got more angry the more I thought about it! He just got fed up waiting for the road to clear and thought it was ok to try to steer me physically. It really helped me understand how difficult it is for people to react quickly enough in incidents like groping on public transport or in crowds.

Earlier today I attempted to do some Hoovering. The Hoover spent about a minute making not-quite-right noises then spat out an inch-wide dust ball. I took that as an indication to abandon the attempt!

Amazon don't seem to have got the environmental message yet. Several months ago I ordered the BD of Toy Story 4. It turned up today, but instead of arriving in the familiar small cardboard package it was in a huge plastic bag with no identifying mark on it to say what type of plastic it was and whether it could be recycled. It did have a URL for their website for recycling information but all that says is that some councils may recycle the bag, and without an identifying mark there's no way to know whether my council is one of them.

Just acqired a very cheap ticket to see "Big" again tonight & now find last train running to my station tonight at 10.24pm due to engineering works. Looks like I will be coming home on either a different route & then a bus or a replacement bus service if they lay one on.

Given the death rate for seagulls & hamsters when Mischief get their hands on them, I can only assume that you dislike cats david. And @theatremonkey, cats cough up hairballs, not dustballs! I'm now wondering what monkeys cough up...

Whatever it is, I’m sure plenty was coughed up when @theatremonkey found out that Sam Barks won’t be appearing in Pretty Woman.

I'm now wondering what monkeys cough up... You really, really don't want to know, Dawnstar, you really don't... I'm guessing bananas are involved in some way... This is really not my evening transport-wise. First the tube was held for 10 mins at Piccadilly Circus & now the train has ground to a halt. Apparently the delay is due to balloons caught in the overhead wires. Honestly, you couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.

I feel that the board's adverts need to try to keep up better. It's just given me an ad for the Royal Ballet's Manon, which I've already seen 5 performances of this month (one to go)!

LOL.
It's my birthday - just got back from a morning walk/coffee with friend and dog. Being taken out for a meal and 'surprise' play tonight I'm betting and hoping 'Come From Away' but don't know.

A neighbour has left a full bed in a shared alleyway for many weeks. Dealing with it and her has turned me into Victor Meldrew.

Worked until 2.30am, back at my desk at 8.45, just left the office at 9pm.
Off on holiday first thing tomorrow morning - much needed but I suspect I shall be wandering around like a zombie for the first day or so!

You have my sympathy d'James . I had to have pre-travel vacciantions on Wednesday & 3 days later it still hurts to move my left arm, though in my case it's the muscles rather than the skin that are sore. I also started a cold on Wednesday and have had to cancel yesterday's & today's theatregoing so am pretty unhappy all round :-(

I put in 28 hours just on Monday and Tuesday this week, poster J, so I know how you feel and sympathise. I knew it was really bad yesterday evening when I was surprised that Rabbi Williams was holding a Chanukah party at Wembley Arena on 16th December. A second go at reading revealed it was the Robbie Williams Christmas Party, which does sound more commercially viable. Thank goodness we all get an extra hour in bed this weekend is all I'm saying. I sympathise with you as well monkey! I can at least report I did not sleep through my 4am alarm and successfully made my very early flight! And yes, the extra hour will be very, very welcome...

Not if you're me, who doesn't like going abroad & swore never to set foot in Africa but now has to go on a 3 week cruise that includes 2 ports in Morocco, hence the injections. I'm so terrified of picking up some stomach bug there (I'm phobic about being sick) that I'm not yet sure if I'm actually going to have the nerve to go on land when we get there.

I had a little cider last night which made me feel really hot, and the doctor said if I have a fever I have to go straight to hospital so I don’t want to get confused lol

So many bugs around - sympathy all! I'm at the tail end of what seems like an endless cough, but definitely on the mend.
And my neighbour's bloody mattress is still in the alleyway.
