Good luck with your play @emicardiff I hope you are not directing. It reminded me of being in a play (as a very young man - a very long time ago) and bitching chatting about the director and saying something like "he couldn't direct traffic!" Of course he was stood right behind me. For some strange reason I never got cast after that - no idea why? i'm not directing no. Though I turned up to the venue last night slightly late (because of course I had a job interview directly before!) and said i was there with the auditions, the guy on reception thought I was auditioning....heck no dude haha.

Related to the above it always for some reason gives me a giggle when people don't put their 'This is Holy Week' signs up properly and the 'He is Risen' is on display waaaay before Easter Sunday. I always think to myself 'blimey before even Good Friday that's impressive' Being wished ‘Happy Easter’ on Good Friday really sets my teeth on edge too.

The first rule of theatre-going is always check the performance times, thereby avoiding arriving at 1.15 for a 3pm start. I thought the theatre looked unusually quiet!
At least the lucky residents of Leeds now get to see me walking around their thriving city centre in my very stylish chinos (without turn ups). 🙂

Things I did not expect to have to do over Easter: spend over an hour assisting in the assembly of 2 flat-pack garden obelisks.

It's a small world, isn't it? 🌍
Despite over 5 million people having the good fortune to live in Yorkshire, with over 800,000 living in Leeds itself, when I returned to the Leeds Playhouse at the correct time this afternoon, I found myself sitting next to the same family I was sitting next to for Sunshine on Leith almost a year ago.
What are the chances?

I’ve just finished making some bunny ear decorations out of pink and white candy melts for a set of Easter cupcakes. They look like labia.

Well I can’t compete with happysooz (above), tee hee, but I enjoyed a Shakespeare Walk this morning. Kudos to the actors (and stewards) standing around in that blazing heat today.

Broken the terms of your restraining order again TallPaul?🤨 (And I wouldn't normally point out spellings on a public forum, but I think you've misspelt mis😏)

Today appears to have been National Drive At 60 In The Second Lane Of The Motorway day.
And on the M1 are the "Use hard shoulder" signs invisible to everyone but me, or do people just not believe them?

I thought on similar lines when Ore Oduba on the One Show greeted viewers with "How many chocolate eggs have you eaten so far?" Edit: not to say I hadn't eaten any but I still feel vaguely guilty!

Not been the best Easter weekend for me. Had to say goodbye to my beloved canine companion, Remus, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, on Saturday - just a few weeks short of his fifteenth birthday. He'd been diagnosed with a suspected tumour in his mouth last year (the vet didn't recommend a biopsy at the time because of the risk of general anaesthesia given his age). The tumour developed slowly at first but became more aggressive in the past couple of months to the point where it became apparent on Friday that it was time to say a sad, fond farewell the following day. He really was a dog in a million and I'll miss him so much. Here's a slightly blurred photo of him choosing his favourite shows from the Edinburgh Fringe programme a couple of years ago.

Heartfelt sympathies to you Steve. I know only too well how you feel. Sadly we too lost our beloved dog 18 months ago. Recently we adopted a rescue dog and is already filling the empty hole that was left

So sorry to hear your sad news Steve, he looks like a lovely dog and I’m sure you’ve got lots of special memories from your 15 years together. Pets are such an integral part of the family and it’s such a hard loss.

I considered making a subtle, understated, tasteful Easter-themed cake for my niece and nephews (aged 5, 3, and 20) for today's family Easter meal... but the moment passed and I'm fine now.

BANK HOLIDAY TOURISTS. GO AWAY YOU DON'T LIVE HERE. *shakes hoe and chews straw angrily*
Still miffed from all the terrible bank holiday drivers this weekend, tailgating me/overtaking and driving at 60 in a 40 zone (it's 40 for a reason... the road is lined with ponies because, uh, it's the New Forest), or the van behind me at a crossroads beeping at me to go when, due to high trees obscuring his vision, he can't see the huge stream of traffic coming at 60mph in both directions... so no, van man, I won't drive out into the middle of CERTAIN DEATH because you are too impatient to wait.
All the tailgaters found out that I slow down to 20 if they're tailgating me in a 30 zone, 30 if it's 40, etc. Some of them got a cheery wave out the window. Bless narrow country lanes, for they are twisty, and BMW drivers with small - er - self-esteems cannot overtake in rage.

A fine example here of that vanished tradition of performers' current theatre appearances being announced in the closing credits of TV shows

I see Trump has his state visit booked, whatever you feel about the royal family you have to feel for the Queen, fancy having to have him over again after he treated her so rudely last time. And all the police etc who will see their leave going out the window.

I need to have a tooth out. Root canal in 2017 that never really settled and I have been eating on the other side of my mouth for about three months now. Turns out the tooth is cracked. An implant is going to cost at least £3000. Trying to decide if I can bear to just have a space...
The oral surgeon at the dentist surgery has a lapsed IV sedation certificate so I am also going to have to do it awake, unless I switch surgery. I’m a complete baby. Any experiences of extraction without sedation?
ETA I treated myself to three new houseplants to cheer myself up, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

Any experiences of extraction without sedation? Having had the procedure under local anaesthetic I can confirm that it was a very painful experience. It didn't help with the surgeon having to cut into my jaw bone as well. Personally, if I had to have another op, Id go down the sedation route to be honest.

Still giggling about this so I have to share.
Colleague J is off work with a broken ankle. Colleague K in HR sent her a form to fill in and said something along the lines of "Don't struggle to post it back, a picture will be fine". Colleague K opened her email this morning to find a picture of J's ankle.

Finally going to get my hair cut after work. First time visiting this salon (first ever salon visit actually) and this will be the first time someone else has cut my hair in over 20 years since my previous hairdresser has moved a considerable distance away. Now I’m just faffing over whether to wash my hair before I go or not, no idea whether they’ll do it there or not and it’s not exactly the best looking right now.

As a Yorkshireman I love anything free, so made the mistake of catching the free bus around Manchester city centre. Truth is, I was a little bit scared of being chased through the streets by a wild bear.
Every other passenger was a woman of a certain age, pulling an overnight case, looking for ABC Premier Inn , or XYZ Travelodge. The driver, who had the patience of a saint, spent more time giving directions than actually driving.
Take That has a lot to answer for!!!
