Trying tomorrow for tickets to YERMA. Never been to this theatre. What is it like? Best place to sit?

Assuming same layout as last time (can't see how it would be different) don't think there are really any bad seats for this, I think I remember some people saying if you were on the ends at one place there was a lack of leg room but suspect this will be a particularly hot ticket so would say just grab what you can. Only possible thought is there are certain places in the front row where this particular play is very up and close, if easily terrified possibly avoid front row.
More generally the layout changes per production so it's always something of a guess picking seats, that said I've never had a bad seat in there and the gallery/circle? can't remember what it is called isn't far away.

Yes, totally flexible layout. No pillars etc to impede the view from anywhere.
In this case it's in traverse, the stage is a glass box in the middle with a bank of seats on each side. No gallery in use if I recall correctly. Good view from everywhere I would think.
Often when booking opens they haven't finalised the layout so you just pick a price band: presumably in this case you will be able to select a seat. It appears to me that the allocation of seats to different price bands is fairly random so if you book early and pay £10 you will probably get a great deal. For this one as Peggs says it will be a hot ticket so grab what you can!

During the presale I saw there are £10 'lucky dip' seats where u could end up with any seats, and they're allocated on arrival.
2 questions really : 1 - what's the worst seat you could get? I believe some are standing? 2 - does anyone know, from experience, if you will need to get there really early to get the best of these seats allocated to you?

I saw the £10 seats mentioned and couldn't risk those as I'm unable to stand. However, when I saw Yerma last year (not the only person unimpressed as a Young Vic staff member confessed to me that she didn't "get" it either), I booked the cheapest (£10) seat and it was absolutely fine. As theatremonkey.com says, there are no bad seats there anyway, so even if yours wasn't allocated until the day, I doubt you'd be disappointed.

I always get £10 seats at the Young Vic. I usually book in the first few days of booking opening, and I've never been allocated a standing space. I've not tried the Lucky Dip, because I usually booked a normal £10 seats months in advance. The Young Vic is pretty reliable for decent visibility wherever you are, so even if a seating plan isn't available, I'm pretty comfortable just booking a £10 ticket on spec and seeing what I get.
Yerma is fine from anywhere in the auditorium; it being traverse means the back rows aren't that far away and it being in a glass box means they're all using microphones anyway, so no audibility issues, and if they turn their back on you at a key point, you stand a pretty good chance of being able to see their facial expressions reflected.

I was sat right on the end of the front row for Yerma and the view was fine, - a couple of times the action went right down to the other end of the theatre but at least the whole stage was used throughout, it was a bargain for £10. The only places I'd be dubious about sitting in the YV are in the Gods, I'm not keen on those seats at the best of times, you're not sitting miles from the stage like some West End theatres but sitting too high up in there, I would have thought the top of the case that encloses the set might obscure your view of the actors.
I'm currently at 943 in the queue, will get a cheap seat for Galileo if any are left but not going to be distraught if not (Yerma didn't sell out first time until the reviews were published)

It took absolutely forever due to the site slowing to a crawl, but £10 ticket for Yerma all booked.

Very disappointing.

I misjudged it, as checked earlier and queue was so short and fast-moving I didn't want to wait as I'd've got in before 10 am and don't have a membership and wasn't sure how long I could hang around waiting for 10 am before being timed out. When I went back, about 9.45 am, mega queue and I'm still waiting nearly 90 mins later.
Shame there aren't separate queues for Yerma and non-Yerma, if that's the production which is arousing most interest!

I didn't queue at all for Yerma. I put the ticket I wanted in the basket when the priority booking was still on at a time when the expiry would be after 10am. Come 10am, I removed the Friends membership they tack on and proceeded to checkout. Took a good few tries due to the site slowing down, but it worked a charm.

I hate it when they open booking before they say they will Almost makes me not want to give them the satisfaction of booking......almost...almost....

Have to say would have been nice if people who realised booking was open from 9 mentioned it here at the time rather than popping up at 10 and saying "yeah, I booked an hour ago"!

I wondered if that would work, but I couldn't tell how long I'd get to check out and thought it'd probably be too little time. Didn't realise they'd opened actual booking early; thought people were just joining the queue ahead of time.

Not a good day to get locked out of work when in queue and computer inside building. Oh no! Managed to get 2 tickets to musical that I wanted and looked at Yerma but all the £10 tickets gone....tried to text you but phone signal down here! It's a conspiracy! Did you want to be my +1 on 9th Dec for musical thingy? Matinee (although ticket confirmation unhelpfully says neither date or time!!!!)
