Directed by Robert Icke. 5 Feb - 26 Mar
Cast includes Jessica Brown Findlay, Vanessa Kirby, Richard Lumsden, Hilton McRae, Tobias Menzies, Ann Queensberry, Paul Rhys, Susan Wooldridge
Currently sold out (apart from one ticket on 8 Feb) but according to Almeida tweet, extra tickets are being released on Sat 6 Feb at 10am.
Had a very limited seating plan when booking opened to members, now looks more conventional albeit with longer side sections so assume it is being done on something like a thrust stage. So it looks like they can release extra seats now that they know better how the production is going to fit.

Slightly worryingly, Rupert Goold has gone on Twitter saying how it's just as good and nearly as long as Oresteia.

Oh wow. And this is a 7.30pm start (Oresteia was 7) so curtain down is probably about the same time...

My decision to see this the same day as The Master Builder may have been a mistake

You might want to wear flight socks to avoid the risk of DVT from prolonged sitting.

Okay so remind me how long Oresteia was then, I have this for matinee but have to decide whether I can get back in time for something in the evening, perhaps not by the sounds of it.

Suspect you're right, and bear in mind Rupert was talking about a run-through before even the first preview.
He also said
which makes me wonder if next time he should opt for a small house red rather than a large one at the interval

I hope that's not a typo - watching Manet paint would be significantly more rewarding than watching Mamet paint.

Yeah I'll wait for opening to make a decision as even previews shouldn't be too far off what it ends up being, I might be relieved if sadly I can't make it back from the theatre in time.

Of course Katie Mitchell managed to spin Three Sisters out to 3:30 by inserting about an hour of silence so who knows.

Due to technical difficulties, tonight's performance has been cancelled.

The running time is approximately three hours and 25 minutes including three intervals.

Three short intervals don't you know
10 mins each
Almeida quickly becoming pretentious twats to overtake Old Vic

Just give us one normal sized interval - 10 min intervals are pointless! There is no way a fraction of the women in the audience could use the Almeida loos in that time; and it can take 10 mins to get a drink at the bar even when there is no one else there...
Though provides an opportunity to escape if it's crap, I suppose.

Now me, I quite like a quick interval to stretch legs (and back!) and then settle down again....I hope they have the ticking clock countdown again, I liked that!

I got the email with the timings this morning. Slightly dreading it. Still, three chances to escape if not as gripping as Oresteia.

The problem is that the text only supports a running time of 2:45 with interval so I fear he has inserted lots of silence - it's a boring place a thousand miles from Moscow WE GET IT !

I imagine they'll be a lot of escapees by the third interval. If it started at 7pm, the running time wouldn't be so bad but at 7.30pm, that's tight for time to get last trains.

Like with the unnecessary long The Master Builder I have invited other people so in it for the long haul out of politeness.
Oh well, least the cast are gorgeous.

1st interval. Giant rotating wooden cube - long stretches while someone does a Rubix Cube or strums a guitar - a contender for forum award Best Animal Actor 2016?
I see what they're going for, and why they need the length to achieve it. Not entirely convinced it's working yet.

At the speed people get out of their seats I'm not sure you can get out and back in again if you're stuck on the far side! Limited hydration I think.

It's ok Peggs...we are H9 and H10, so door side...a triumph in planning!
