Is there a special Theatre Board secret greeting? We could glare ominously at anyone who speaks or uses a mobile phone.

I'm on my way - if you spot me, I'm the one in checked shirt who looks a mixture of hungover and knackered!

I'm going to miss it this year. First time I've not gone in years. Booked Funny Girl in Southend long before I realised it was west end live so trekking over there in a bit. Have a great day everyone.

Doing a double bill of The Ferryman and Our Ladies... today but after somewhat overdoing things last night, will probably be giving this a miss in between and finding somewhere to attempt to recuperate. Hope those of you that are there/on your way have a great time.

Met up with my sister and am unable to get back to my original position I once tried to go back to my original position. The person I was with looked disappointed and suggested that I lack imagination.

Always a fun day, but I can sense budget cuts. Sorely missed the mastercard angels after spending the last two years in VIP (It's turned me into a snob, so this was a humbling experience).
Plus a lack of stalls. Where was Picturehouse Cinema for my free breakfast popcorn and parody photo?
Good to see new shows though (still miss Billy, and definitely feel Thriller lasts 10 minutes too long (CLOSE IT ALREADY!).
Off to 42nd St now.

It felt a very different experience. Even the full size free brochures were in short supply

Went today for the first time in about 5 years. Ridiculous queue all the way round the National Gallery meant we missed Wicked but the queue moved quickly and we could still here it. Apart from Les Mis and Phantom all the slots seemed rather short - they were running 15 mins ahead at one point because so many shows only performed one song or two short ones.
Some good performances (Dreamgirls, 42nd Street and Half a Sixpence were the standouts) but the inbetween bits done by the presenters were truly dreadful!

They were killing time. Once or twice they presented the next upcoming act, only to be told by stage management that they weren't ready so had to then waffle on.

So what were everyones' winners and losers then? What shows cane that made you think "I really have to see that", and what made you think "Christ, glad I've dodged that bullet!"?

Tens to agree about Dreamgirls. Despite having already seen it and the fact that the girl singing wasn't Amber, whoever she was gave it her all.
The Toxic Avenger is defiantly on my list of shows NOT to see.
Les Mis, Phantom and Wicked are still proving to be crowd favourites and as every popular.
Everybody's Talking About Jamie had me intrigued.

I saw the first two and a quarter hours and the final 45 minutes yesterday, watching the matinee of Dreamgirls in between, before going to see Working in the evening.
I enjoyed Wind in the Willows, Half A Sixpence, Bat Out of Hell and Our House the most. There was only Stomp that left me completely cold, along with the terrible presenters (who have something of a thankless task I guess).

They should rename it Wend End Understudies Live.. none of the bigger name stars can be bothered to turn up. You wouldn't get that on Broadway.

Thats a touch harsh. Im sure that was Charlie Stemp up there with Half a Sixpence. I agree. Clare Halse and Tom Lister were both there for 42nd Street, likewise Andrew Polec and Christina Bennington for Bat Out Of Hell. The shows with the leads performing easily outnumbered those which featured the understudies. It's just a shame that one-song performances seem to be increasingly becoming the norm. At least Our House and Bat Out Of Hell gave us medleys of three songs to finish. Just a shame about the triple dose of banging and clattering in between from Stomp!
