What would people recommend as the best recording for this (for someone who doesn't know the score)? Was thinking if being patriotic and going for the 1996 London one....
Here's the seating price charts, if it's of use to anybody. From what I can gather, there's no preview discount and the same price for weekday/weekends.
Hmm, with Patti LuPone on board I might fork out for the slips seat to sit through this. I still have zero interest in seeing a show about a woman badgered into needing a man to settle down with. Even the bits in the Daily Fail article annoy me:
Bobbi, a 35-year-old, commitment-shy singleton whose body clock is ticking. (Tick-Tock, an orchestral number which is often cut, will be re-introduced, and choreographed to hint that time is running out for her to start a family.)
-- yes, because every woman is just aching to start a family and pop out babies. It's impossible to believe women may be happy and fulfilled without babies.
‘Bobbi is a sexually confident woman, looking for love. She’s a woman of today, really 2018,’
-- right, she's sexually confident, but as a woman she can't be just that. She is looking for love. She needs luuuurve. She needs a maaaan.
OK, my two cents contributed. Go on being happy about Patti's casting.
Sorry but it won't be running long at those prices. It's a niche show and Patti is only a name to show queens. And Rosalie certainly isn't a name who will draw in the crowds.
However, Patti will give us full campiness and I will have to see it.

I will prob book for this but have to agree. Doubt this wil run much past xmas.
I love Company. Donmar production my favourite by far. But dear god, Patti!!!!! And unfortunately that's not meant in a good way. But needs must and so i shall still go. Thank god she doesn't have to do a cockney accent in it.
Please tell me this is a joke- Jane McDonald has just tweeted that she'll soon be making her West End debut alongside one of Broadway's biggest leading ladies! I mean, they wouldn't, would they???
I should proably just take myself straight to the 'unpopular opinons' thread but...my heart sank when I read this. Firstly because I had high hopes at the re-writing, contemporary production (I know not shared by all) and bringing back Patti in that just doesn't feel...right. However on that I trust Elliot's judgement. But...and here comes the unpopular bit....I'm just not much of a fan of La LuPone. Funny enough she falls into the same category as Nathan Lane for me- someone Broadway fawns over but I don't quite 'get'.
Sigh. I'll have to see it, because I have high hopes for Rosalie, and Elliot but sigh...

We will probably both get thrown off the forum for our radical views!!!

Hopefully this will not sell out like crazy and there will still be tickets available closer to the start of next year. After giving Mackintosh a lot of money for Hamilton almost a year in advance of seeing it, I don't feel comfortable with parting with my monies at this stage. And although I do like the songs in Company, I am not 100% sure I like to book. Time will show.

Hmm, I think I might wait for a TodayTix lottery or something.
La LuPone isn't the big deal over here that she is on Broadway, so I can't see it selling most of the theatre at those prices. Surely there will be some dynamic pricing going on?

I've learned my lessons with Lady Day where I jumped and bought expensive tickets, only to read how cheaply people managed to see it. Don't get me wrong, it was worth seeing Audra become Billie Holiday, but I'm not sure I would do the same for Patti.
I'm in the same camp as everyone else of it startingall the way next year and the tickets being a bit expensive, I don't even really want to think about Christmas yet . If I'm honest though ,if Jane McDonald is in it that sort of makes me want to see it more and seeing who else they cast may make me want to book tickets .Hopefully they will do dayseats or have deals for cheaper tickets.
Re the pricing, I think it's just the way it's done these days. Start by pricing it high, and if it sells out great. If not, reduce the prices nearer the time.
If the pricing started at a more reasonable level and it sold out quickly, they'd be kicking themselves for not increasing them.
I remember when Half A Sixpence first went on sale tickets were sky high expensive, but they soon dropped once the show opened and wasn't full
