If you don't want to see KJ go on 18th April. Molly Lynch is playing Julie.

Doesn't sound bad at all!..... Seems like she's working hard before rehearsals even start.

Tonight's Eve Standard (28 Feb) has article about how Katherine Jenkins is taking private coaching for acting and music for the show.

Hardly a surprise and probably sensible.

And you know what - Good for her! She's not a trained actress but this shows she's taking it seriously and wanting to put on a good show. Can hardly criticise someone for that!

She should immerse herself in fairground culture. Perhaps a visit to Barry Island?

I presume that was said in jest, but She can already sing. I'm not a fan of her myself, and you may not like her voice or style of singing and she's not really suited to the role of Julie Jordan, but she can sing and has made a he'll of a lot of money doing it.

Just had an idle look at some random dates for this....and there is lots of availability. I would have said that Alfie Boe and Katherine Jenkins are not of the star quality/calibre of Glen Close and it appears the public agree - especially at the prices which if I am not mistaken have edged up slightly since Sunset, certainly in the Upper Circle and Gallery. I wonder if there will be deals nearer the time. There certainly wasn't last year.

I contemplated a ticket, mainly out of curiosity it has to be said, but when I saw the prices I decided I wasn't that curious!

Good gracious, I have had to drag this thread up from page 4 - the last post being on the 1st March and now it is the 4th April and this opens this Friday 7th! There seems to be so little buzz about it - so unlike this time last year with Glen Close and Sunset which still seems to getting coverage due to the show playing Broadway.
I have not booked for this - the prices are too steep and I don't expect discounts. Anyone going at the end of the week? As always I look forward to board members comments/reviews with anticipation!

Well the show is produced a lot and often with soprano who can sing and act - perhaps that's why the thread was stunned into silence ?

Fabulous music but ultimately it's about how women shouldn't moan about being in a domestic violent relationship and if u love your man his punches will feel like kisses! Some lovely songs though

Typical Rodgers and Hammerstein fare - a fantastic score with a REALLY dubious book by contemporary standards. Although the big name casting does not at first glance appear to be what one might consider *good* casting, which is why people are dubious. Still, I'm happy to be proven wrong, as long as I don't have to go and see it for myself. I have heard that they're working really hard on getting Jenkins MT-ready, so fingers crossed?

I haven't book tickets....what makes you hesitant about this production? I'm not to familiar with the show😳?? My issues were mainly regarding casting. If this is your first time, you should know the show deals with some quite controversial themes. There are moments when you think 'Are they really saying that? That is just awful!'. But I have seen different people coming up with different explanations / interpretations for the controversial subjects, which I find quite interesting.

I'm booked for Easter purely on the basis that Sunset Boulevard was so brilliant.
Will give it the benefit of the doubt until the curtain goes up.
