Kinky Boots tomorrow eve and then on Thursday afternoon it’s my Norma Desmond-like return to the wonderful Encore Radio to chat about my love of musicals, my love of cooking & chatting about Britain’s Best Home Cook.
I do love a Kinky Boots visit.

Tonight I shall be enjoying a Big Mac with extra cheese at the Southbank Centre for 'A Little Princess'. What was it like? Did you enjoy it? Could Amanda actually sing? In all her interviews she said she couldn’t!

Tonight I shall be enjoying a Big Mac with extra cheese at the Southbank Centre for 'A Little Princess'. What was it like? Did you enjoy it? Could Amanda actually sing? In all her interviews she said she couldn’t! She really couldn’t! She semi-spoke her lines but she didn’t have too much to sing so got away with it. Danny Mac was really good- better than I thought he’d be. The children- and particularly the young actress playing Sara - were superb. The ending felt very rushed though and in a way left us feeling as if we’d missed out a little. Another downside were the teenagers behind us- but I’ve moaned about that already on the bad behaviour thread!

Tonight I shall be at the Bridge Theatre to see 'My Name is Lucy Barton'. I may do my Michael Caine impression during the show. I think Laura Linney will like that.

Tonight I shall be at the Globe Theatre to see 'The Two Noble Kinsmen'. I may bring a torch to shine on the stage when it gets darker this evening in tribute to Emma Rice. I think the old audience will like that.

Thin week for me and starvation next week: all I've seen this week is The Chalk Garden at CFT and I'm away for a week from Saturday with, so far as I can discover, NO theatres whatsoever within reach and 2 cinemas which show only mainstream fare. Still, I should return to the fray with renewed enthusiasm the week after next.
