I'm sticking to the hope of a new to role! Also Laura is Grizabella in Cats on the Asian tour so can't see the timings working or her taking a backward step to Elphie Standby?! Will she still be doing that by the time the Wicked tour starts? Can't seem to find any dates for Cats.

I saw her as Elphaba once and she was incredible. She really should get the role fulltime in London someday. Being standby on tour could be a nice stepping stone.

I agree, I saw Laura's debut show and was blown away that she was only 2nd u/s! Such a strong vocal it would be great to see Laura back in the show, either on tour or in London!

One of the most effortless Elphie performances I have ever heard!

If what my friend has said is right then there will be an brand new elphaba and it's supposedly one of the Amy's who were in the original kinky boots cast. Not sure how true this is but they work with someone who has just finished the international tour and is now doing the U.K. Tour and this is what they've said

That Elphaba news is also the rumour I heard too while I was in London a few weeks ago at cast change. I don't have a source as it was from a friend of a friend, just fans chatting.

Interesting...very interesting. This would be awesome if true. As I'm sure you're all equally aware, it has now been almost 7 years 5 months since we had a truly "new to Wicked" Elphaba, so I remain sceptical, but would love it to be true. That said, I've got a bulk order of Nutella on standby just in case it's Jax

As we've started giving names now, Amy Ross is also what I know. I've heard its concrete, and has been for a while.

I think Amy Ross has been cast as Elphaba. A friend of mine who understudied Glinda on a tour was in the finals for lead Glinda on the new UK tour but didn't get it so it has Deffo been cast!

Victoria Farley? Interesting choice to go with an ex Nicola as Elphaba, no disrespect meant to the outstanding Cordelia Farnworth who currently plays the role BUT I've never seen a Nicola that I felt had the chops for Elphaba.

Aye yeah that's what I thought as well, but again without being disrespectful I don't think the role of Nicola gives much room to showcase what an actress can do. Don't get me wrong it's a great little role it just has its limitations haha

Yeh to be fair when i saw Amy Ross nothing screamed ELPHABA! about her but as has been said, it's quite a limited role and i think she only has one song right? So i'm fully open minded that she'll be fantastic!

Waiting for a frantically rushed out press release from Wicked Towers now that it seems to have been leaked...

Safe to say I wasn't expecting her as Elphaba (she was in the Heathers workshop as HC right? I'm predicting a full transfer with that cast) but I have high hopes!

Yeh to be fair when i saw Amy Ross nothing screamed ELPHABA! ! Which is ironic because most Elphaba's spend their time screaming through Defying Gravity

The tour doesn't start til January.
The tour will sell tickets on the name of the show alone. It's selling ok (I assume?) and no casting news has come out so far.
Only a very small percentage of touring audiences will know who this woman is. Will announcing it sell more tickets than would be sold anyway? I doubt it.
Can't see an official announcement coming soon, unless they have an ace up their sleeve.

Assuming that Zürich (which is on sale) is the start of the new tour, they actually open in November, which means rehearsals October so announcement imminent.....

Ooh I'd forgotten about that.
So Zurich is the new Bradford!

Ooh I'd forgotten about that. So Zurich is the new Bradford! Apparently... the other half is much more accommodating to a field trip to Zurich than Bradford!

We got tickets for Birmingham in April, I didn't book them myself but the person who did said a lot of the seats were gone. I reckon this has to do with it being half term as well though.

Oooooo a new Elphaba and a new Fiyero! I wonder if the Suzie rumour is true and they might have a new Gkinda and go for a brand new top three?!

I really, really cannot see him as Fiyero (even without seeing that ridiculous pic above).

He would be a perfect Fiyero, he has a great voice and he can act too.
