Who needs an announcement when we fans can do it ourselves! So I think... Confirmed: Elphaba - Amy Ross Glinda - Helen Woolf Fieyro - Aaron Sidwell Rumoured/assumed to be staying: Morrible - Kim Ismay Elphaba Standby - Jessamy Stoddart No news/assuming new casting: Nessa Wizard/Dillamond Boq the leading 3 confirmed? hmm... ok, not that interesting for me, might wait until castchange 2018 und see it in London then

That's probably why they're not announcing it quickly, the general public will just think "who?" Unlike when they announced that bloke from Eastenders.

I really hope the Glinda is Helen Woolf, she has received rave reviews across the board so would enjoy witnessing her portrayal. I'm a bit concerned about Aaron in the role of Fiyero, but I have been surprised by "celebrity" cast before so time will tell. I know nothing of Amy Ross (in truth, I never heard of her before the rumours began circulating).
I would love for Kim Ismay to return, she was certainly a standout among the international tour cast. As for the standby Elphaba position, I think that Jessamy is a likely candidate. I remember finding her departure from Wicked so soon as odd, especially since she seemed to enjoy being with Wicked!

Aaron has been in many musicals though, he's earned his chance. I think he will be great!

She also told people that she was staying on, so maybe Wicked later offered her standby on tour and she decided to accept the promotion. Aaron has done quite a bit of musical theatre already so I'm not too worried about him, he's more a musical star who got a television big break than a TV star trying to pad out a quiet spell with theatre.

It's three new leads for me and also will be new Standby Elphaba and green/pink witch U/S even if some of them return - so I'm totally happy!

A friend of mine said that none of the international tour Elphabas or Glindas were returning, he seems to be right so far so I imagine he could also be right with regards to the understudies (Zoe, Elizabeth etc..) Natasha has already confirmed she won't be returning.

Natasha has already confirmed she won't be returning. The only Glinda I could see returning would be Amy Goodwin who was/is swing and 2nd Glinda! I agree about the Elphies and can imagine fresh U/S which is a safer bet with a new lead having Jessamy as Standby.

I'm really hoping the Helen as Glinda rumours are true, I've only heard good things about her Glinda and gutted I never got the chance to see her in London. If everyone here is right then it'll be all new leads for me which I love.

why are you all excited for it? some threads up here it looked like you all already know who will be in the cast?

I wish that we didn't have a clue who it was. It makes announcement very boring if it turns out to be Amy and Helen. Same with Sophie and Alice in London, its like one cheer, one party popper then everyone goes back to speculating who will join at the next cast change and who riffed the night before or caused a scene at stage door.

Unless they have a "name" they've managed to keep from us this announcement is going to cause a very small ripple of excitement and will be hidden in those theatre circular emails we all receive and cannot always be bothered to read.

Maybe Carrie Hope Fletcher will get her chance to do Elphaba, considering Addams Family ends in November. Just a thought.

I think her joining Wicked at some point is inevitable.

As has already been said, I also don't think it'll be a big exciting announcement . It's been dragged out for too long, they should have made full casting news when Fiyero was announced.
Plus it seems as though people already know Elphaba and Glinda, Glinda not exactly an inspired choice. But then it's Wicked so what do people expect

As it's the eleventh anniversary on Wednesday I can see the announcement coming out then.

With the whole Fiyero announcement, I think they panicked when it got leaked and weren't prepared enough, but I'm not sure what they're like with casting announcements so who knows

Aaron Sidwell tweeted that he was at Wicked this week and Jessamy was there last night. Again nothing concrete but looks like another thing pointing to her joining the tour cast!

I think we've been lucky in the past that Wicked cast announcements tend to be relatively early.
Billy Elliot used to announce their new casts on the day that they started, and the recent Book of Mormon cast wasn't announced until after they started!

Elizabeth Futter from the international tour (1st cover Glinda) will not be joining the tour as far as I know (unless the chosen actress has pulled out) I rented off her whilst she was doing the tour and she was in the finals for lead Glinda but she didn't get it...

I have no idea what is happening but it sounds intriguing! Someone else asked what it meant and they replied that she’s defying gravity tomorrow! I wonder if that’s how they’re announcing the cast?!
