Tube noise surely has to be the worst at the Dominion! Literally constantly.

Deals were discussed earlier. This afternoon I arrived at the matinee half an hour before curtain up. Box office offered a couple of price levels in the stalls at about 55% of full price. There were free seats but it was fairly busy.

Saw this last night and enjoyed it! I did wonder if parts of it are a bit questionable/dated these days politically or maybe I just need to lighten up? Mainly Elizabeth's don't touch me policy that when pushed into a cave and taken forcibly by the monster turns into deep love. Also Frau Blucher's ode to domestic violence 'he was my boyfriend' . What do you guys think?

Its a comedy of its time brought to the stage, it didn't bother me at all. Its a classic, and it is funny to watch. If Dianne's character didn't have the material she had, it would be a dud of a character and a real annoyance, not the highlight she is.

What do you guys think? Yea, Brooks' humour hasn't aged well and feels incredibly dated to me - both the sexist stuff and the "funny" accents. With all the buzz here on the forum I've been mildly tempted to check it out, but I just don't feel any desire to sit through this show again or to give Brooks my business. You might argue that it's a "comedy of its time" but that doesn't make it better for me. Countless older comedies don't feel dated because they never resorted to this kind of humour.

Original Monster set to leave THIS Saturday! I’m sure there was an interview with Brooks around opening when he said that he’d paid for Hadley Fraser to come over and for his London apartment during his stint. Sounds like he wasn’t happy and has decided to drop out the production. Surely he wouldn’t have been contracted for just 6wks?!

Original Monster set to leave THIS Saturday! Before Shuler Hensley was announced as coming over from Broadway I thought that either Nic Greenshields or Jeff Nicholson were the most likely casting for the Monster & it seems the casting director thought the same!

Hi everyone, I'm going to be in London next week to see theatre and have a few day seat spots left. I'm a HUGE Mel Brooks fan, huge. I also saw the show on Broadway and didn't love it. I know it's been revived, but frankly (see what I did there?) changing two songs wasn't my big issue with it. I was curious if anyone saw it on Broadway and West End and could tell me if it's worth my revisiting? As a Brooks superfan, I feel compelled, but don't want to waste a slot. Thanks!

I suppose it depends on the reasons on why you did not love it in the first place?

The West End version is tiny in comparison to Broadway. I saw both. Its super fun but looks like a tiny regional touring production in comparison. If I was you I would check out all the shows you don’t have (Dreamgirls, Jamie, 42nd Street) first before seeing this.

I saw this at the weekend and was disappointed - maybe it's just not my type of humour. I found the first act pretty unfunny and boring, and although it got better in the second act it seemed to rely on a few repeat jokes that might have been funny at first but quickly wore thin. Good cast but half the time I couldn't make out what they were singing, and it really is a show that's long past its time in terms of attitudes towards women etc.
Certainly not worth the extortionate ticket prices it's charging!

I was in on Saturday evening, my third visit (first in London) and got a £25 Dayseat in the second row for £25. Can’t fault the view at all. The stage is high so the second row is preferably to the £20 front row (Today Tix allocation), who probably all left the show with a sore neck.
The full cast were on and it was Shuler Hensley’s last show as The Monster, although this was not acknowledged onstage.
No changes that I could see from Newcastle apart from little things like two of the villagers have swapped lines in the opening number.
The film’s fan club seemed to be in and any reference to the film got an “ahhhh” acknowledgement, the crowd were great though, very well behaved and lots of laughter.
I adore this show and I think the casting is perfect. I could watch it over and over again (and probably will), the only real disappointment is that I forgot to head to the gift shop and get one of those magnets that BurlyBeaR has been raving about.
(I also seem to be developing a bit of a thing for Mr Fraser!)

Just saw this. It might not be a great musical but it is a lot of fun!
House seemed full!
And oh Hadley! Such a handsome man! 😍

Was there this afternoon, upper circle closed. Enjoyed the show, but not as much as I could as the man sat next to me smelt like urine (felt like gagging when he first sat down it was that bad), and the smell lingered throughout the entire performance.

Oh, so not a full house. I experienced that earlier this year at School Of Rock. It's disgusting.

Sad to hear about the Upper Circle though I suppose at least it wasn't empty on an evening or weekend show, its typical for some shows to have that and still be fine.
Sorry about the urine too. I had a guy sat in front of me at 42nd Street on Monday who smelled slightly of weed. It wasn't so overpowering that it bothered me, and I don't mind the smell of weed anyway, and it didn't both the lovely guy sat next to me, but I can imqgine some may of been bothered.

Who spotted the lovely Hadley in the Murder on the Orient Express film?
It all went downhill after his brief appearance.

I know this is cheeky but has anyone try to get day tickets in the afternoon? can't make it to the theatre earlier... They only sell 11 tickets according to theatremonkey but I wonder if the release other seats when it's quiet...

The first and second rows aren't very wide due to the side stage staircases, hence the low numbers of seats sold in that offer.

For the sake of £5 difference I’d always recommend theatre dayseats over TodayTix lottery, having sat in both. The stage is just too high in AA; a much better experience from A.

I got day seats last month an hour before curtain up. They were decent enough for £25.

frontrowcentre I got a row F ticket at day seat price about half an hour before the show on their midweek matinee day a couple of weeks ago.
