Why didn’t they give Dr Ranje a ballroom like foxtrot? Too much of the 'costume' dances. Kate in trouble, very heavy, sorry. Just wondering why Tess hasn’t got a brooch poppy?

WTF is this mess? No way is that a street/commercial routine. It was more contemporary than anything else. Not sharp enough to be street.
They are commenting on something I didn't see. And, as ever, it was the Kevin dance with someone else doing a few bits in the background.
It will be massively overmarked.
And lose that bloody silly hat.

Shirley doing her ‘signature move’ in the jive.
I wonder what happened to Corky. He looks a character! (Watch to the end).

What is the point of the judges when they refuse to vote honestly. A QS where the footwork and syncro goes wrong from the outset, it is never going to be worth 7. If you dance it all wrong, you should get marked accordingly.

I am guessing Pasha and Ashley only had half an hour to work on that. It was dull.

If you dance it all wrong, you should get marked accordingly. I don’t know why they felt it necessary to appease Danny with soft peddling comments. “Your top line is divine” “I hope people still vote for you”. Why? It was a mess! Judging by his face Danny doesn’t take negative feedback too well. Bit of a diva maybe?

We are seeing the judges jump the shark when it comes to scoring now. There is no way at the VW was worth 8. It was not 2 points off perfection.
It was always a bit odd - but now it is just random - erring on the side of being massively overgenerous.

Who chose this awful music for a Paso? It was not easy to stay in time (which they did fail to do on occasion) but it was was just so non-Spanish as to make a mockery of the dance style.

I know nothing but Joe’s feet were all over the place. And yes he DOES look like an awkward 27 year old from the West Country. A bit of eyeliner ain’t changing that.
I suppose having 4m YouTube followers has its benefits. If it was anyone else they’d be out by now.

I give Joe credit for having got to a reasonable standard from zero stage/dance experience. In terms of journey, his is the most impressive of this season.
Is he a great dancer? No. But has he improved from week one? Absolutely.

Joe very much overscored but they adore him, don’t they? Are we missing something on the telly?

I do think Kate will be eliminated tonight. Her dance was very stilted and heavy and I felt almost lazy? It's like she's not fully committing herself to the dance.

Some dodgy camera work in the opening number. You could see dancers running on behind the staircase and one of the girls holding up her dress and pulling up her knickers. "Oh er missis"!

I usually like Faye but her gritted teeth throughout the dance made her look awful, not helped by the dark lipstick.

Given that Ashley and Faye have been too good from week one, it's pretty clear that Stacey and Kevin will win this year. It's been a dull year so far, don't know if I can be bothered with the rest of the series.

Good. I wouldn't mind that now that Dr Ranj has gone. At least Stacey shows a bit of personality (God forbid for some viewers). Pasha and Giovanni could be dragging mannequins around the floor and we wouldn't notice.

I liked Ranj but this was inevitable, Jeanette doesn't have the experience to teach quite a few of the dances, if she couldn't get Aston very far Ranj didn't really have much of a hope.
It's a bit dull this year, lacking in interesting personalities. Most people are pretty low key with one hideously shrieking exception who has even worse been paired with Kevin who edges close to Anton level obnoxiousness at times. To be fair I liked their Tango last week but their street commercial was an overmarked mess - how the judges thought was at the same level of Charles's a few weeks ago I don't know. Unfortunately I think it's between them and Joe for the win at this point.
That said it's time for Charles to go, apart from one dance he has been pretty average and he clearly doesn't have the votes so he's just taking up space right now. Then Lauren can join him, rather than inflict another painfully dull dance on us. Danny is a bit of a mystery but he's clearly got some votes behind him to dodge the dance off but he looks too hit and miss to win at this point.
I'd like to see Graeme and Kate make Blackpool as I think it would mean more to them, they are both proper traditional Strictly contestants and have a bit more life about them.
Faye and Ashley look to good to win at this point, of the two I prefer Ashley who isn't anywhere near as bland.

It's been a dull year so far, don't know if I can be bothered with the rest of the series. It would be fascinating to see voting figures to date. We really have no idea what influence Joe's huge following on social media is having. Thankfully so far he's danced well enough that no-one has had cause to question why he's still in, but it could be that he has an unassailable lead every week.

I think that Joe is good enough to win. He is after all a none dancer and fulfills the "journey" role. His media following is HUGE and he only needs a small percentage of them to actually vote and he will be the clear winner should he be allowed to get to the final when the public have a complete say.

Here we go - will the 'is Danny a bully?' debate affect his result this week? Will there be some dodgy costumes? Will someone be overmarked?

Not just some dodgy costumes - LOTS of them. Oti and Graeme have been stitched with those outfits. Mismatched horrors abound.

It has been over the press the past few days - allegations that Danny has been bullying Amy - causing her to walk out of training and refuse to go back to work with him. Talk of him being on a final warning.
It is being officially denied - other than a slight tiff that is now resolved. But it would seem that they are not really getting on.
(And that was a very messy Samba)

Thank you. His mum didn’t look impressed either.
I said last week that Danny seems to not take negative feedback well.

There is a sense of entitlement that seems to come from him. Whether that is real or just how he appears on screen (the edit?) - but it is hard to find him endearing.
They are now trying to make Ashley seem more human.
This show is very manipulative.

I will give Pasha and Ashley credit for that routine - it was an engaging piece of dance. Pasha really did get to shine and she did well to try to match his skill.
But the over-heavy playing of the emotion card rather spoils the effect.
It will top the leaderboard.
But I still don't think she will win at the end.

Very frenetic salsa - with awful costume and make-up.
I loved the jive - it was classic, fun, fresh, bouncy. No idea what Shirley is on - she didn't judge that fairly.

What a dull waltz. Feels very dancing by numbers rather than any connection or emotion.
