It is easier for him to withdraw - which would also see the end of her as a partner for this year. But she may have to continue for group dances (depending on the choreography)
But we don't need to see them on screen dancing together again. So whatever is necessary to achieve that is fine with me.
And Neil should get a partner next year as part of the deal!!

There were rumours about other couples over the years but never demands they should pull out like has been said about Seann and Katya lead by creepy sycophant Dan Wootton on Lorraine.

I don't think anyone has transgressed quite so openly and so soon during any previous series - and been dumped so spectacularly.
People get together under all sorts of circumstances - but this one feels particularly tacky.
The public are going to have zero sympathy for him. He is unlikely to avoid the bottom 2. And that will be him gone.
Far better to walk away, admit mistakes and step out of the spotlight. No mealy-mouthed apologies.
I am glad his now ex has got the cat.

I mean it would actually feel a bit like justice if he’s voted out on Saturday and everyone smugly knows why but nobody says it.
Also glad she took the cat.

Perhaps the cat could stand in for Seann while Katya dances round it? The cat has three photos in the Daily Mail and I am sure is now on his way to celebrity.

Last time someone pulled out (which I think will happen before Saturday) I think it was a female celeb whose father had died? They got into a right mess trying to explain how the rules worked in such circumstances, and poor old Bruce had to read this very complicated thing off the autocue about people getting a “bye” and whatnot. No one had a clue what he was going on about, including him!
I hope they’re better prepped this time.

Oh so they had a touch of under the sweater action after a few sneaky drinks. In the words of Fräulein Schneider, "so what?". It happens all the time. Yes, it's all a bit tacky but that's celebrity nowadays. I don't think there are enough high horses to go around for all of us though so we may have to draw straws.
The great unwashed are so fickle when it comes to their puritanism. They're up in arms about this situation but want to send all of their best wishes to Ant McPartlin who chose to get into a car while drunk and had an accident involving a small child. It's a world gone mad.

It’s not about the morals of it. They won’t be the only couple in the show who are getting close I’m sure. I think it’s more about what Seann Walsh and the two Jones’ all feel about continuing to work together under the circumstances. The awkwardness of that, plus having to do all of those funny rehearsal videos, and all of the hugging after the performances will have a totally different slant on them now. If they’re all cool with it then fine, carry on. I just don’t see how they can do it without it seeming extremely uncomfortable. I think he’ll walk and we’ll get Tess doing the announcement with sadface “for personal reasons Seann has decided to leave the competition “.

There is a difference between getting close over the course of a series and indulging in that sort of kissing after 3 weeks (particularly when he had a girlfriend who had spotted the signs and she is (for the moment) married to a fellow Strictly professional)
The optics are awful for the show.
For as long as he remains part of it, the show is tainted by their behaviour.

Yes he pulled out after like week 1 or 2 due to his mental health issues. Tess just announced it at the start and they carried on. Be a bit more awkward in this circumstance but I'll sure they'll put their best BBC face on it. Or give the cat a shot.

OMG! Can't believe the fuss being made about this. Sounds like Sean's relationship was pretty toxic long before curse of Strictly struck. Can't see why they should withdraw from competition. Great British public will no doubt do what the Daily Mail tells them is right and proper in the circumstances. God help us all!

I'd never seen Will say why he left the show but having Googled it he did open up in an interview last year that it was for his "Mental Wellbeing" - thanks for pointing this out Emi.

Kelly Brook pulled out when her Dad sadly passed away, Jimmy Tarbuck withdrew as he had a health scare on his heart I think and John Sergeant withdrew as he felt he might win it and it would be unjust.
Ironic if Seann's Ex gets the cat and he gets Katya!
Hopefully all parties can move on and I do feel for Seann's Ex and Neil Jones of course.

You don't understand the "fuss" being made about allegations of emotional abuse? Ok then. I would suggest you educate yourself on emotional abuse issues and then maybe you'll have just a shred of compassion for the innocent parties involved here, which are not Sean and Katya.

"Seann's ex" has a name, and although she's scarcely at household status even from all this palaver, you'd think that a TheatreBoard who might have seen Pomona at the Orange Tree or National Theatre, or Temple at the Donmar Warehouse, or Wild Honey at the Hampstead, or possibly even I Am A Camera at the old Southwark Playhouse might have come across the name Rebecca Humphries at least once or twice before now.

Seem to be a lot more judges on Strictly than we’re used to here. And a lot of the anger here directed, unsurprisingly, towards Seann. What about Katya? It takes two to tango... Demands for him to leave... talk of transgression... tainting the show’s reputation? Really?!? Come on. Strictly’s bigger than that. (And the ex’s name is spelt Seann, Rebecca...)

(And the ex’s name is spelt Seann, Rebecca...) Actually it is Sean, he added the second "n" purely after he saw it in a movie and liked it. The spelling his parents chose was a single n. And of course there is a lot of anger at Sean - have you any concept of what emotional abuse means? I doubt anyone would make such serious allegations without there being at least some truth in them, and so the reaction is entirely understandable. Also very telling how many people in the industry have come out in support of Rebecca compared to Sean. No-one is saying Katya is innocent in the slightest, she's clearly caused a lot of hurt to Neil and many others, but she isn't the one being accused of emotional abuse here.

Right bunch this year, should be renamed crims come dancing, Lee Ryan, a drunk driver who has also been caught with class As, Graeme Swann, drunk driver who got off because of his cat. And now emotionally abusive, philanderer Seann.

Yes and re: Katya. Firstly it's one thing to be (one half) of a couple who gets caught up in a moment and transgresses. It happens. It's not nice, but people do slip up. But if Sean is as Rebecca describes (and I believe her) then emotional abusers are also very very charming individuals- when they want to be- so it's easy to see how she would have been sucked in. Not saying she's without blame, but the more we hear, the more it becomes easier to see how it's happened.
If they'd just had a snog/cheated I'd have said well it's awkward and they did wrong but if they can keep a professional front on during the show, then let them carry on and have the viewers decide. Obviously it seems to be more than this now.
Personally I hope Katya and Neil do sort it out, and it was on her part a drunken mistake/being sucked in by someone. But also if nothing else, Rebecca found the strength to get away, albeit in a horribly public way, so we can be thankful some good came of it. I hope she finds happiness .

Well none of us know what goes on inside anyone else's relationship so we should stop acting as judge and jury while we are ignorant of the facts.

^ The worrying thing is that juries in this country are frequently made up of people like some of our posters who believe anything they read on Twitter, without question, and without the need to examine any actual evidence...
It’s lucky the cameras were on when Miss Pallett made her famous allegation. Else poor Ryan Thomas’ career might have ended up down the toilet too.
I wish all parties in this Strictly mess well, and hope that there’ll be happy endings for all of them.

The worrying thing in our society is that women are frequently not believed when they come forward about abuse. Which is why many fail to report. And why men continue to get away with it.

Testimony is evidence. Sometimes juries have to decide who they think is more credible. In this case, Rebecca Humphries' statement sounds perfectly credible to me. It wouldn't be enough to convict him of a crime on its own, of course, but witness and other statements are considered evidence in court all the time.

Demands for him to leave... talk of transgression... tainting the show’s reputation? Really?!? Come on. Strictly’s bigger than that. (And the ex’s name is spelt Seann, Rebecca...) Oh PLEASE. Before Rebecca released her statement, I checked both Seann and Katya's Instagrams and she was getting far more abuse than him and the usual getting called a slag and similar gender-based words. Katya's husband Neil has carried on posting on social media but hasn't said a word against her and his mum, sister and niece have all posted public support for Katya suggesting that he's not as torn up about it as people want him to be. For all we know, Neil and Katya could have an open relationship. Rebecca on the other hand has confirmed that not only was this affair behind her back, but Seann has gaslighted her and been emotionally abusive. If these claims are false or exaggerated, there is absolutely nothing stopping Seann from sharing his side of the story, which he has not done. As my earlier post in this thread reflected, I think people are far too OTT about cheating in general, especially when it comes to people we don't even know but cheating is one thing, abuse is entirely another.

Heavens! All this fuss over a drunken snog! I wonder what the real Strictly judges would make of it after watching the footage!
CRAIG: FAB-UL-OUS darling! DAME DARCEY: Loved the drama. Great story telling. I loved your top line, your head placement was perfect. Can't wait to see what you do next week!! SHIRLEY: I would have liked to have seen more hip action and movement through the lower body, Sean you were a bit stiff at times, but great tongue work - you could go all the way! BRUNO: (Falls off chair with excitement). It was a FULL ON RUSSIAN ROMP! SIZZLINGLY SEXY! A LICENCE TO THRILL!

Great. Except I think Craig is more likely to say: I thought you looked a bit woody - I mean wooden, Seann.
