And of the judges, we have a show choreographer, a ballet dancer, a Latin specialist and another show person. Ballroom not so much...

Decent line up for the pro tour - Pasha and Giovanni are doing their own tours too. Pasha hasn't done the Arena tour for a couple of years but Gio has, so they will have a busy year.
Brendan has extended his tour into the autumn and is doing Panto so is keeping himself busy after leaving Strictly.
Shirley is doing Panto too which is an interesting one, Craig has done it for years but Bruno or Dame Darcy haven't ventured into that genre yet. Darcy had many years performing with Royal Ballet so would probably not want to go back on stage and Panto wouldn't really be her genre unless she was a fairy god mother type role possibly at Palladium. Bruno would be hilarious in Panto but doing Strictly and DWTS in the USA and Strictly tour, I doubt he wants to work over Xmas and doesn't need the money.

I'm surprised none of the new pros are doing it - I would have at least expected Luba to partner Giovanni, but presumably he'll dance with Oti instead.

Since tickets have already been out a while, the new names aren't established yet and aren't likely to shift tickets. Who knows they might be added further on into the series, or feature more prominently in the celeb tour?

The established names would shift the tickets and it is effectively all the returning pros minus Anton, Kevin, Aljaz and Janette who do their own shows. I'd guess the established pros get first refusal and Neil comes along with Katya even though he hasn't got a celeb partner.
Luba is doing Giovanni's tour early next year and was involved in creating his last tour so will be ticking over.

I was lucky in the ticket draw to be given tickets to the show.
However, looking at it, it seems to be an endurance event, which includes camping out from 3AM until 9AM and then coming back again for further queues and sitting in extremely uncomfortable chairs for the duration of the show, which finishes gone 10 and then further queues for the phones they take off of you, an extremely long day.
I'm a big fan of the show, but think this is just too much for me. Surely there has to be a better way for the public to get in. It excludes a lot of people being able to do this? I'd love to go, but this doesn't even seem like a pleasurable experience, more a survival of the fittest!

I'd love to go, but this doesn't even seem like a pleasurable experience, more a survival of the fittest! They have to overbook it in case people don't show up. The queue used to be at a reasonable time but people seem to be getting there increasingly early to try to get front row seats, which go to the first dozen or so in the queue. If you dont mind being seated upstairs, people seem to still get in if they start queuing around 8am for ticket validation at 9am, then once your ticket is validated you don't have to be back until about 3.30-4pm (which makes sense as they need to get everyone seated to record the music acts and pro dances before the live show). I don't think it's half as bad as you're making out to be honest, but if you don't want to use the tickets you were so lucky to get them that's your prerogative. I'd happily suffer a bit of queuing and a one-off long day for the opportunity to be in the audience as I've applied for tickets for about a decade without success!

Couldn't validation be done online these days rather than in person.

Yes, they have to overbook, however apparently they do it by 100% and let's face it, I think most people would turn up to the show. But, I have read people being turned away who arrive at 8am. From what I've read, it seems like it's pretty rough on a lot of people. I also have physical limitations which prevent me from doing certain things, so this does seem quite bad to me. Don't get me wrong, in the past when I was 100% healthy, I wouldn't mind a bit of suffering for the chance to see this, but given how it'll probably end up with me being bed-bound afterwards, it's a lot to weigh up.

I can’t think of an event in the world that would get me to do that. And clearly a huge bias against anyone who isn’t a local. Imagine if you were coming down from the north and didn’t even get in? Not on. And you’re not telling me that they couldnt have a reserve list of people who would fill any empty seats at very short notice.

I can’t think of an event in the world that would get me to do that Ah those heady pre-internet days when Madonna was booked to play Wembley Stadium and it was the only real way to get tickets... Up until around 2000, there were occasions where we “slept out” for tickets* for bands/ acts we really wanted to see as they would often release the front row to the queue before they opened the phone lines. I feel really old thinking back to then! Now, it’s as many browsers open as possible at once hoping to move up the virtual queue as quickly as possible. *in reality we used to sit up all night talking then send one of us to McDonalds as soon as it opened to get breakfast for us all. Wembley Arena used to let us stay just inside the box office so it never got too cold!

I'm unapologetically going to be 'Team Kev and Stacey' this time. Also team Gorks and Katie.
Susannah and Anton was an obvious one, and maybe a merciful early exit? Hoping that Ashley Roberts has enough dance experience to keep poor little Pasha in a bit longer this year.
Entertainment wise, I really warmed to Seann, not really knowing his comedy beforehand, and Lee Ryan seems like he might fall into the 'fun but useless' category. Also Danny John Jules and Dr Ranj seem entertaining guys. I didn't warm to Charles, he seemed a bit of a fan of his own image and a bit too serious about it all. But I might be wrong.

Anton is looking increasingly out of place amongst the male pros. And it’s not an age thing, it’s the whole persona and that whenever there’s a joke to be played they shove him into it. Like coming down straddling the mirror ball throwing glitter about last night. He does it very well and probably enjoys it. But it does mean he gets landed with a certain type of partner and as such doesn’t get taken seriously which is a shame if what’s said above about him being the only remaining ballroom expert us true.
I’d take him off the dance team, ditch Zoe Ball from it Takes Two because she’s well past her sell by date in that role, and give Anton her job. He’d be brilliant. He’s funny (she isn’t) he can dance (she can’t) and he could have a proper rapport with the contestants through his understanding of what they’re trying to achieve. Then we can promote lovely ginger to the male pro line up. It’s a no brainer.
Or if they insist on keeping him on the pro dance team, give him a proper partner and not the latest sack of spuds.

As a (sometimes minority!) Anton fan I agree. Either step up and find him an older woman who can DANCE (a Debbie for instance) and let him shine. Because he's still incredibly talented as a dancer, as his tours show. OR let him be the 'Ballroom personality' and if he can't be a judge, then let him present ITT. I do love Zoe personally, but a joint presenting team, or a regular feature, much like Iain Waite would let Anton's expertise shine and let him clown around a bit.

Susannah and Graeme for starters. Seann looks pretty useless so far. Joe Sugg seems to have no talent - but he has a huge army of Sugg Life followers and will survive. I think Charles is being pushed as top male talent. He was in the middle of all of the key moments of the group dance.

I wanted to grow to like Stacey but partnering her with Kevin will make them an insufferable pair.
Ashley and Vick looked great, but so they should with their experience.
I think Charles could be a surprise.
Loved Faye’s longer dress and she did great in the group dance.
Not sure if I’ll warm to Danny or not.
Susannah to go first please, even if she scores forty.

I wanted to grow to like Stacey but partnering her with Kevin will make them an insufferable pair My thoughts exactly. Even their 20 second backstage reactions video was too much for me. Such a shame Oti and Katya seem destined for fairly early exits this year, but I remain hopeful that Oti can work miracles with Graeme and get to Blackpool at least! Totally rooting for Aljaz & Kate, and hoping Gorka manages to pull off some form of decent ballroom for Katie. Surprised they gave Ashley to Pasha though as I thought his time of getting contenders was long gone. Though she obviously going to be this year's Alexandra...

My kids want Dr. Ranj to win, as a fan of Red Dwarf I’d quite to se how far DJJ can go.
I’m really looking forward to this series though, more than I have done in a few years, although I can’t quite put my finger on why.

Anton is about as funny as the plague he also isn't a TV presenter, he'd be a disaster on ITT. He has his niche on the show of giving the older female celebrities an enjoyable time but since his Latin is so poor there's no point giving him a contender.
Kate and Aljaz looked the most fun couple to me, she came over very well.
Vick and Graziano should be good but he seems annoying.
Anton and Susannah were obvious, I wasn't expecting to like her but she seemed quite fun.
Conversely I didn't think Faye seemed that interesting but after last series I have a lot of time for Gio so hopefully they'll be good.
I warmed to Nadiya last series but Lee is usually a pain so we'll see how that goes.
Ranj and Janette may be a bit too hyper, think he'll end up being a comedy contestant.
Danny and Amy seemed lacking in chemistry, maybe she thought she was getting Brian Connelly all over again but Danny should be a lot better.
Joe seems to have had a charisma bypass and Dianne is pretty anonymous so not a thrilling pairing.
Katie seemed like she was going to put the work in and I like Gorka so this should be a decent partnership.
Competitive women often struggle on this show but I thought Lauren came over well. Not convinced AJ is the best choice of partner though.
Katya was always going to get a duffer and although he's relatively young I'm not expecting much from Seann.
It was very obvious in the group dance that Ashley is miles better than everyone else. She's too good to win but at least Pasha should be around for a while.
Charles came over a bit too cool for school which often doesn't connect you with the audience on this show. However he looks like he could be a decent dancer so I'm surprised they've wasted him on Karen.
Graeme and Oti are probably my second favourites. I'm not expecting much from him but if anyone can get him up to standard it's Oti.
Kevin works best when paired with someone calm, put him with someone else hyper and he becomes almost unbearable so they've put him with someone who makes Kelly Bright look shy and retiring. This is going to be horrific.

The obvious job for Anton is Brucie's. Ditch the talent black hole that is Tess Daly. (How did she get so far on SO little?)She can't even read the autocue never mind deliver a joke, and the costume dept obviously loathe her, given the hideous frocks she's given. The only thing on Strictly with less vitality is Shirley's forehead. It'll ñever happen of course, but....

It was very obvious in the group dance that Ashley is miles better than everyone else. She's too good to win but at least Pasha should be around for a while. I disagree, she was a bit too stagey in that group dance and not the most elegant. I thought it was very obvious that Vick Hope is actually the one who is miles better than everyone else from the minute she walked down the stairs, and unlike Ashley she will have a chance of winning so I'm very much looking forward to seeing what she can do. I thought Graziano came across really well despite the annoying focus on his looks from Jason Gilkison and the producers...
