Ed did t balls up, but I think he'll be first to go next week. I love Louise and Daisy and I also hope Naga ups the ante. I hope Rutherford does well too

This must be the Uptimate Feel-Good Show!
Nobody needs to rein anything in for me.
Completely distracted during the Eastenders Lady's dance...
Will... What are you wearing???
A seriously high standard...
What's not to love?

A seriously high standard... What's not to love? Yes, an extremely high standard. Just an observation, isn't the Paso usually performed mush later in the rum as the celebrities gain their confidence more and work up to it? Will... Cornel Saunders in a puffy shirt. Who doesn't love a puffy shirt?

(Not because of their places on the leaderboard necessarily, but popularity which the competition always is at this point.) My favourites from both nights have been (in no particular order): Greg, Tameka, Danny (mainly because his partner's Oti), Anastacia and probably others I've forgotten. In previous years on the old board, did anyone provide the Dance Off spoilers?

Digital Spy does - advisable not to go anywhere near it after about 10PM on a Saturday night if you don't want to know who goes. Loved Danny, Louise, Judge and Greg. Disappointed with Claudia - choreography a bit all over the place but think she'll be great further down the line. Honestly didn't see what the judges saw in Daisy's waltz or Ore's horrid tango (I was too distracted by the radio-active trousers!) Claudia Winkle's present to AJ The class of 2016 are truly amazing!

I was going to offer to provide the spoiler if people want them but maybe people can just go to Digital Spy if they really want to know as that's where I'd be getting it from haha.

You wouldn't be the first to pinch 'info' from Digital Spy.... Daily *cough* Mirror! Trouble is, although people are pretty good at only mentioning by name who has gone on the actual spoiler thread, they leave massive hints on the other threads which anyone with 3 brain cells could decipher whilst doing a killer sudoko with the other side of their brain - hence the warning to avoid - but you'll know that already! I HATE knowing who's gone before watching the show! Completely ruins playing the "please, please fall over" game during the dance-off!

The judge and Greg need to reign it in a bit. It was too manic. Dreading Ed Balls. Personally, I wil Ed balls all the best and hope that he proves everyone wrong and lasts (at least) 4 shows or more. He didn't show himself up.

I embrace the spoiler, I hate the pretence that the Sunday show is live when everyone knows it's not. Plus I usually record it and watch it in about 10 minutes flat once I've cut out all the judges' sections and other such rubbish. Plus it makes going on Digital Spy much more fun.
I loved Daisy and Danny, thought the tiny bit of Tango Ore actually did was good (the rest of the dance was rubbish), thought Judge Rinder and Laura were awful and thought Ed wasn't as bad as I expected! I think Melvin will be eliminated first.
I also thought it was strange to see a Paso Doble week 1 - presumably it was just a gimmick because Gorka is Spanish? Equally strange that Danny will be doing Viennese Waltz next week though - it's not the easiest of ballroom dances!

No spoilers please. If I want them I can find them. I do hate the Sunday live pretence, they should just sack it and give the results out late on the Sat night like they used to

I thought there was some serious over-marking the second night - love Tameka, but that wasn't her dance, it was almost like she was sending it up. The music didn't help. Her partner is cute, but maybe not a great choreographer? Love Daisy too, but she was over-marked. Hope Ed Balls stays in for at least a decent (say Jeremy Vine) amount of time. I think they are right - he is the sort of person this show is about and (sweetly) you can tell how much he wants to do well and how disappointed he was that he didn't do better. Danny Mac is going to be entertaining, but as said above, he is a dancer so it's not as interesting, whereas Greg Rutherford's progress will be (he definitely is pigeon-toed so that's going to be something to overcome.) I think Melvin and Naga might be in the first dance-off. I don't think they will have the same following as some of the others. Reckon it's going to be a fun series!

I enjoy the show but it has got very serious. Generally a high standard but I miss the fun elements of previous series - Russell Grant and Julian (I live to dance) Clary for example. Lots of people already at the top of their game, such as Danny Mac with nowhere to go. Not as interesting as someone who has had no dance training but talented and watching them improve from week to week.

It will be interesting to see how popular certain characters are. Ore for example is probably not that well known, so may find himself in the dance off sooner than he thinks. Anastacia's another one, she hasn't been in the public eye much recently but I really like her so hope she gets a few weeks.
We'll see what Melvin does next week but there seems to be a consensus that he'll be in the dance off. It's a shame because I really like him but I think the shows he's famous for are not well known to the Strictly viewership.

It's all about Judge Rinder, Lesley Joseph and Tameka Empson for me. There are a lot of really nice celebrities this year but for me, those three were all so entertaining and what I love the show for. Greg Rutherford, Danny Mac and Will Young are the ones to watch for the title though I think.

Greg Rutherford, Danny Mac or Will Young The problem with Tameka is that LARGER THAN LIFE personality and it's all about reining that in and moulding her and I fear this could, ultimately, be her downfall.

I know what you mean but it's the way she is just throwing herself into it and having a ball as well is just what the show is about for me. I seriously think the way she attacked that Paso Doble with all the subtlety of a bullet train like she was running with the bulls in Pamplona will remain one of my favourite moments of the series. It was a genuine joy to behold. Same with Lesley's waltz, there was something just so heartmeltingly lovely and sad about it. I know it was far from perfect and I certainly don't see her winning but for those two minutes I thought she was the best one of the whole bunch. It was so touchingly genuine.

Mmm... I wonder if he is "replacing" Ian? Hadn't even thought of that! We'll soon find out. Ian Waite went years ago! They retire them off after a few years... apart from Anton and Brendan, unfortunately.

The overall standard of this year's celebs seems pretty high. Loved Judge Rinder, Danny Mac, Will Young, Louise Redknapp and Anastacia. Greg Rutherford was a pleasant surprise.
I like that that the competition seems pretty wide open at the moment, with several looking like possible finalists/winners.
