I have written this post as I was just wondering if anyone else collected old theatre programmes. I do and have a descent sized collection of them from about the 1950s-1980s. I put some of them in a frame to display them and others I have in a folder. I do not really know why I started to collected the but they are a fun and cheap thing to have. You can find cheap ones on eBay but I go to ephemera fairs to collect them.

Well, I only wish you had said this about a year ago. We had to give away our collection - some of it went to a good home but some just to the local charity shop so no idea. Storage was a problem. The collection took up whole of a spare bedroom floor in boxes. Good luck with yours.

I keep all my programmes. I don't think I'd be bothered about paying money for productions I haven't seen though. I love looking back through old programmes, it's as fascinating as old photograph albums.

Same here - I keep programmes of everything I've seen or been involved with but wouldn't be interested in any others. I've made it my mission this year to get them out of the spidery cupboard and purchase some decent storage boxes. Now, how best to catalogue them? Chronologically or alphabetically.......hmmm, decisions, decisions! |
