After touting Bandstand on this board based on word of mouth, I finally got a chance to listen to it - and was disappointed. The orchestrations are better than the songs they're orchestrating. War Paint, in kind of the same retro genre, is much better. But I'm now more than ever convinced that the best new score on Broadway last season was Groundhog Day - head and shoulders above anything else.
I recently binge watched both series of SMASH, and I'm loving the music from Bombshell.
At the end of the first series I was left wondering how long until producers makes the move to make Bombshell a reality. There were some really good songs in it, some a lot stronger than the current score of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory features.
Whilst typing that, did some research and apparently its a thing and in the pipeline. No fixed timeline but rumoured to be coming to broadway. Also just discovered theres a Bombshell album out. Slow here.
