Adrian Zmed, sigh - that thoroughly gratuitous shot they had of him in the opening titles of TJ Hooker with his top off. Sigh.

Although I gather the pronunciation doesn't quite fit, be prepared for reviews that manage to find some way to make use of the phrase "from Ade to Zmed".

Does anyone know if this will be "a la Menier" production? i.e. scaled down and more "real" than the original? I've seen both and it's like night and day, the Menier production was a revelation with Douglas Hodge and Denis Lawson, totally changed my mind about this show. The original version just didn't work as well, it needs to be more intimate and bare'ish - if that makes sense.

A Bill Kenwright production will take "scaled down" to a whole new level. No doubt it will make the Menier production look like the London Palladium show. I can see the Cagelles sharing feathers and a couple of sequins between them and the La Cage Aux Folles nightclub consisting of a glitter ball, a bit of rostra and a few tables borrowed from Starbucks! Plus the delight that is John Partridge in the lead.
It's doing a 2 week stint in Brighton next August - I think it will struggle - the show has been done in Brighton many times with very good amateur productions.

Lol Or maybe the BEST of times! It's the same team as BK's Sound Of Music and there was no stinting on set or design for that.

I saw her in Tell Me On A Sunday a few years back. She doesn't have the range she used to, but the role isn't big vocally. She'll be great. She still has wonderful stage presence.

I desperately want to see this show but the thought of John Partridge puts me off.

Saw mrbarnaby's mention of Partridge in the post above and without going through the previous pages, stupidly thought for a second we might get to see Alan Partridge in this, but alas, it was not meant to be...

I've always wanted to see Marti Webb on stage, I really like her voice. However, as some of the post above, I really don't want to see John Partridge.

I was so quick to say this was gonna be a car crash. But you know what, John Partridge actually sounds fine. He doesn't sound like he's having a nightmare singing it, much better than Chicago.

There's one bit in the trailer where he seems to be doing Northern accent. Also I thought those shorts were illegal.

So contrary to news reports this week, Zsa Zsa Gabor didn't in fact die but is instead schlepping around the provinces giving it her 'I Am What I Am'.
And a message to Time. You have NOT been kind to Adrian Zmed. Not kind at all. You brute.
