I went yesterday for my last visit, although planning to see it in Oberhausen in maybe March. Saturday will be electric I'm sure.

I dayseated from 9.30 and the only seat they had for the evening show was a really bad one at the Dress Circle... 😔 I feel I shouldn't "like" this post, but I still do, because it gladdens me that my beloved Bats go out with a bang in front of full houses and not close with a whimper with many empty rows. Happy to see the fandom's support although with this surge in demand I just wish once more they had at least been allowed to complete a full year. Enjoy the final performances, all of you lucky people who are there!

Some friends of mine dayseated for yesterday's matinee and only managed to get row L stalls whereas on previous occasions I've always got good seats in C or D. I booked seats for the final show months ago and only managed centre section, row U in stalls. I just wish it had been this popular over the summer months then it probably wouldn't be closing now! I have a request from a friend who can't make the final show to record the last bows/final speeches etc. so if I'm in a fit state, which I can't guarantee, then I'll try and post a link for anybody interested. (secretly hoping for a UK tour announcement)

(secretly hoping for a UK tour announcement) There are 6 seats in row E that seem to go on sale about 3 hours before the performance this week. I went down with Young for one last show for them on Tuesday- we got to the the box office 12 mins before the performance started and were offered L on the sides too- I asked specifically for the row E that were left (I’d screenshot the seating plan for that performance just before it came off from the website and showed it) the box office person checked with her manager and then he agreed it. I really do think though it was down to the very last minute of our last minute tickets though! I completely share your sentiments about wishing it had been this full in the summer. I’ve been quite a few times in the last month and although there have been familiar faces in the audience every time, there also seem to have been a lot of brand new audience members judging by the reaction to certain things in the production. I do wonder if a lot of people only got around to booking once they knew it was closing, which is a shame as it could have been so different. I have fingers crossed for a tour too, although I’m not holding my breath because as other posters have said, closing productions have often said this and then the tours fail to materialise. My hope is that they filmed the whole show when they filmed the material for the promo, and can put that out on DVD.

I’m not sure Andrew- I think we were just v v lucky with our timing on the day (it was a very last minute descision and I wasn’t even sure we’d get there on time). Also, the website is saying limited availability for tonight’s performance. You could do what I did though- monitor the seating plan on the website and then try at he last minute?

Andrew, I thought I would add- Have you been up in the circle at all? I sat in restricted seats at the side of A on Monday with my 5 year old, and the view was brilliant- it gave me a whole new perspective to the show and I saw things I’d not seen before. I’d deffinatley sit up there again if the show had continued, despite finding the stairs hard going (even with my stick!)

No I haven't, I'm not a fan of the circle in general, especially if it isn't in the first few rows. But I'm quite relieved now, I hope the view is decent! Thanks for the info!

I think yesterday afternoon was the busiest I've see it in the four times I've been, but still a good chunk of the premium seats were empty.

I think yesterday afternoon was the busiest I've see it in the four times I've been, but still a good chunk of the premium seats were empty. That’s because they are £150! And some of the seats they’d normally have sold at £70/75 have been upped to £95. Supply and demand I guess...

So said goodbye to what's been my fave show in the West End for a while yesterday. Saw the Weds matinee and both performances Thursday (sadly I am working this weekend so can't make the final hurrah). Simon on as Strat yesterday afternoon, Jordan the other two times. Jordan has a strong voice and I do like him, though without doubt I find Simon the stronger Strat - to the extent that I can't help wondering if he was offered the job full time when Andrew left and turned it down due to his other commitments. Who knows.
Anyway, great atmosphere in a pretty much full Dominion which was nice to see (though of course the talking/texting/photo taking is more plentiful in a full house - you do really get some lowest common denominator audience members at Bat sadly). As others have commented after a slow start this has sold pretty well for a barn like the Dominion and certainly this week has showed the demand is still there (though I appreciate part of that will be time of year). Sad it couldn't make it to April - especially as nothing seems to be going in to the theatre.
In a rather cynical ploy they upped the prices of the premium seats this week - leading to a very neat empty square in the stalls for both matinees. In fact a member of FOF was checking tickets in the area before curtain up and moved some punters back to the cheap seats they had booked! I felt slightly smug as my row H £75 seat had doubled in price since I bought it!
So there we are. For me the West End will be duller without this show - I really do love it! I don't doubt at all that a UK tour will be announced on Saturday. Whether it happens is a totally different matter.
I will definitely be going to Oberhausen at some point though - my German is not good enough to be put off by the apparently very poor translation so I'll be really interested to see it there. And is the same part of the world as Bochum so I can easily combine it with a Starlight or two - bliss!
Very much looking fwd to the fan reports on here tomorrow. Have an amazing time those of you that are going!

Unfortunately I'm not able to get to any of the Saturday performances so I'm currently listening to the OCR on the train down to london for the weekend. For me this has been one of those shows that just blows you away every time you see it. Forget the plot and at timex crazy choreography, as a visual spectacle, I don't think it will be beaten anytime soon. Its been an absolute pleasure listening to those great songs coming alive by an absolutely stellar cast. So to Jim Steinman and all the associated production crew, musicians and cast members past and present a very big thankyou for creating such as an unforgettable experience and let's hope we can see this return to UK theatres ASAP.
To all those lucky enough to be going to those final shows, have a great time and I'm sure the Dominion will be rocking this weekend.

So I saw it on Thursday evening for the 3rd (and probably last) time and I'm still not over it. First of all, many thanks to dontdreamit who persuaded me to keep my circle seat, as it was great. The show does look better from up there! Every single cast member killed it. My previous visit was with Barney and Georgia for Strat and Raven, and, even though their performances were good, something didn't quite click like the 1st time I saw the show and thankfully yesterday all that fire was back. Jordan is one of the best performers I've ever seen and there are not enough words for Christina's killer vocals, she is 100 times better than the cast recording. Also, 1st time seeing Gio and he was really really good. The only thing I missed was Danielle, and even though her understudy was really talented, her performance didn't even come close. I would really like to see it one last time just for Jordan's performance but I won't think I'll be able to get a decently priced ticket for tomorrow, so I'll have to wait for the tour, when it happens. I've been living here for 3 months and I've seen around 20 West End shows; I still don't understand how this is the one that closes. I'm sure it will resonate better with audiences in the future, if producers are willing to take that risk again and actually give it a little more time.

So the 5th January is finally here. I can’t begin to even articulate what this show means to me- it’s been a very long time since a show has got me like this, and I can’t see that anything will come close to it for a very long time. It’s got the family too- the 5 year old sings bits of the song all the time, and the older one quotes bits of dialogue constantantly when we least expect it!
If you see me today, please do say hello- I’m in A13 for the matinee and B29 for the evening. I can’t guarantee how I’ll be though, as I feel far too emotional just thinking about how this amazing show is finishing far too soon.

How was Rush for this today? I haven't heard anything at all, it's weird. Did they not do Rush?

Good for them, that's an amazing theatre to sell out, and Bat has fans that will snatch up those seats. Thrilled to see that both 42nd Street and Bat will play to pretty much, if not, sold out shows today for their final day!

The matinee has been sold out for over a week, with only a few late release seats appearing for the evening a couple of days ago. So pleased I booked as soon as it became clear that this really would be closing night. I haven’t been since Andrew Polecs last night, but wouldn’t miss this for the world. 😢🦇🔥

Brilliant muck up matinee this afternoon, Danielle finally got to sing sex and drugs and sausage rolls! I went and had a coffee just after and Christina came in so I was able to thank her for some amazing performances- as much as I would have loved to have done stage door I never have as I can’t stand for very long at the moment so have never been able to thank any of the cast.
Not long now until the very final act- there are going to be so many tears tonight.

Was able to say thanks to Jay Scheib who was loitering at the back of the stalls before the show began. Loving it obvs...can’t believe this might be my last chance to see it. 😔
NB -wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan has been swapped out in the interval. I’m sure a bit of his uvula hit my face at the end of ‘Bat’.

What an end performance. Don’t have the words right now, I really don’t. But they sang Good Girls and It Just Won’t Quit as an extra finale and it broke me again. No words.

On the way back from the final performance now. Wow. It struck me really hard during the interval that this really would be my last time seeing the show & I suddenly got really emotional.
As mentioned above, we were treated to great performances of the cut songs; both were fantastic. You could tell certain cast members were getting emotional during particular numbers- especially Danielle & Alex. And I think Jordan was crying just before the ‘I Remember Everything!’- all them being emotion just made me even more emotional!
It was amazing & I’m really so sad that it’s all over but I’m grateful I got to experience it; and I can’t wait to see what other amazing roles this incredible cast go onto do.

Lots of them have been on quite the journey; nobody mentioned a tour and everyone seem quite resigned that it was the end of a journey. Stage doored then remembered why I don’t.
