When they first started this initiative, I managed to get a decent, cheap seat, around 75% of attempts. I've been trying recently and have always had 2000+ users in front of me in the queue so I get nothing.
Has anyone else noticed their success rate dwindling, or is it just me?

I got sky's edge a few weeks ago. I guess as more people get to know about such schemes it will get harder.

In the recent past, there were some productions they couldn't give tickets way for - £10 Friday Rush still available the following Monday.
The difference now is probably that there are two sell-out successes in the Olivier and Lyttelton atm and, imo, and at least one of those has huge word-of-mouth recommendations.

I've managed to get Sky's Edge and Romeo last couple of weeks. Not noticed any noticeable difference

I’ve managed to get Friday rush tickets for pretty much every production over the past year only failing a couple of times (the most recent being last Friday, seems like everyone is desperate to see Sky’s Edge before it closes).

Where are the tickets usually located? From the box office?

Where are the tickets usually located? When I did the Friday rush for sky's edge, they had tickets in the front rows of the stalls and in the middle rows of the circle.

Following the recent discussion about whether Friday Rush had become more popular so less successful, depending on your queue position (probably also on whether it includes a popular, otherwise sold out production such as SATSE), has anyone had an issue with the link simply not appearing, pse?
I can rarely try Friday Rush as I work on Fridays so the last time I was even able to attempt it was in December when I had taken a day's leave. On that day I was able to see the counter ticking down for a good 30 mins beforehand; I then had to wait another 30 mins for my turn, by which time tix had almost sold out for the play I wanted.
Yesterday, however, when I tried to get ready well in advance, the counter was missing both on a PC and my mobile: all I could see was a notice saying that the NT would post a link shortly before 1 pm, but no matter how often I refreshed the page, it simply didn't appear and in the end, only after resorting to trying the normal booking route, was I then placed in a queue for Friday Rush as usual, but too late, as there were by then 250 people ahead of me. So I wonder if this was just a blip or if the NT have changed the system and the counter no longer appears for the week preceding the next date?

Standing At The Skys Edge made it virtually impossible to achieve, but it was much more straightforward this week without it being in the mix...

Yes, as I thought, but my question was specifically about whether anyone else had found the counter missing/no longer featured on the Friday Rush page, &/Or the link very slow to appear?

Showgirl, I had much the same experience on a Mac this past Friday. Called and Customer Services claimed that no one else had complained but suggested sending an email to the box office. I sent one and await a reply.

Thank you ATK - whilst I'm sorry you were also affected, this was exactly the sort of response I was looking for as otherwise I'd have continued to wonder if an IT issue was to blame. I'd better brace myself and send yet another slightly reproachful email to the NT.

I had the same issue with no link appearing on the NT Rush page just before 1pm last Friday. I was still able to get tickets through the normal booking route, but I found it strange it didn’t appear on my laptop or phone as it has done in the past.

Finally managed to get one for The Motive and the Cue on my 3rd week of trying. I had laptop and phone set up and got a better position in the queue on my phone than on my laptop. It's the back row of the circle, but for £10 I'm happy.

Yeah just to make sure everyone complaining about it is aware, you don't need to go through the Friday Rush landing page to get Friday Rush tickets. Just go through the normal What's On menus to the show or even specific performance you want and when you try to click in to buy a ticket a few minutes before 1pm it'll put you into the queue. This incidentally makes it quicker once you're through the queue to get to the one particular performance you wanted to see.
I think Friday Rush has become much more popular in recent years because it's just become more well known. Over time knowledge of that method of booking a ticket goes from very-online theatre goers to average theatre goers and eventually to occasional theatre goers. Whilst they hold certain tickets back from most performances for Friday Rush purposes, they also use it as a way of releasing house seats and/or a portion of the generally unsold seats for less popular shows. If you're trying to get tickets to something popular there will naturally be fewer of these seats and it will be more difficult to achieve.
Anyway, good luck today.

I got Friday Rush tickets for Dear England today. When 1 pm came I was number 252 in the queue. I only looked at two performances and nabbed tickets (back row of the circle) quickly as there were only 4 tickets on sale across the two days that I looked at.

Looking at their website it says nex Friday's tickets are going on sale at 4pm instead of 1pm. I wonder if this a permanent change and if so it will make it a lot easier for me but then I am sure it will be the same for lots of other people which is a blessing and a curse.

Wonder why the NT doesn't email those on their list to announce significant changes like this? Although I'm no longer a member, they regularly email me to nudge me to (re)join, which I won't, but info like this is exactly what I do want and need to know.

Are we expecting Friday Rush for The Effect to be difficult? Seems decently well sold.
