Yes, I was very much looking forward to seeing this, but I am equally very happy for the both of them. What a wonderful surprise. We can always rebook when it does come over! And yeah, to be honest, getting my ticket money back would be a blessing right now! ALSO just got an email from DM saying that money will automatically be refunded if you bought online.

yes, just wanted to write them and got the email "If you booked your tickets online these will automatically be refunded and you do not need to contact us." - will wait for my next credit card bill then. How fast is this refunding usually ? (Just to know when to check)

I wonder if something will now transfer to Wyndhams to take up the vacant slot ?

My money is on The Truth parachuting in for an 8 week run from the Menier.

Could everyone shout when they get refunded and I'll check my bank statement! Shall we all put our money in a kitty and go to the pub?

The Truth is not a bad guess, Hampton mentioned a West End run of it in the programme for The Father.

Interesting they didn't try to recast it - wouldn't that have been the easy option?

Interesting they didn't try to recast it - wouldn't that have been the easy option? It really is her show, she won awards for it and it's sort of become her signature role. I imagine unless it was someone phenomenal, they'd be issuing almost all the refunds anyway. Plus, I think she is still keen to do it in the future, so finding another actress would probably rule out a run with Audra afterwards.

Gutted to no longer be seeing my Broadway idol on my Birthday, but thrilled for Audra and Will. I really hope she does come over with it at some point still.

But yes, it's fantastic news for the both of them, and as the show is just postponed, not cancelled, I'm sure we'll see her over here at some point once her baby has been born!

Great news for them about this 'afterthought'. It's hard to see the show happening for at least 18 months to two years. We don't know when the baby is due, but let's assume some time in the autumn; I can't believe she will want to relocate to London for three months to do 8 shows a week with an infant in tow.

Sheridan wasn't available. Nor Dame Angela, apparently.

I've just noticed that Sky Arts are screening an HBO filmed version of this. It's at 11pm on Sunday 2nd October, though I would expect it to be repeated. There is a positive review on IMDb from someone who had also seen it live, so it sounds promising for those of us who missed out in the UK.

I would have missed it otherwise.

Oh no, I only have poor man's telly. NowTV Entertainment Pass, £6.99 for a month no contract, if you have a decent internet connection? Cheaper than a theatre ticket...

So is the transfer of this to London not going ahead now?
not so bothered about the play itself but I'd like to see Audra McDonald make her aware debut!

Maybe one day, but I highly doubt any time in the foreseeable future. It's possible that Audra will want to stop performing for a while to have/raise her child and may make a decision about if/when she returns to theatre in a few years time at least. That's just me speculating, though. I've no connections to Audra nor do I know how she plans to start her family!

One wonders. She might be planning to do Lady Day in London after that tour to make up for last year or the writer of the article just lazily copied and pasted the short bio from somewhere else.

I could be wrong, but my instinct tells me this is a copy-and-paste error. Broadwayworld can be prone to these errors unfortunately often. Let's hope I'm wrong though!
