I did attend a show in the cabaret space (a room underneath the main theatre) which was not a good space - the cabaret show I saw did not have a raised stage so it was just a bunch of people sitting in a room trying to see a performer, which is what you might expect of a cheap Edinburgh Fringe production but not something at these price levels.. 'Breeding' which cherokee saw was I thought in the main house and so would have seen the different layout. The main issue with the theatre is that the circulation spaces are three storeys above the performance spaces with a small lift, and given that they are usually trying to do more than one show a night in the main theatre, let alone something in the cabaret space, means that there are always going to be people waiting at the top level which makes it impossible to turn things around quickly.
