Just seen this, I’m already booked to see Les Mis en français in Paris in December and was looking to see what else was on at the time to add to the trip.
Not too sure about this though! I saw Rocky Horror at Lido2 a few weeks ago and have to say it wasn’t the greatest, so I’m not sure about dropping €100 on this when we’ve got Imelda Staunton in the role at the Palladium this summer!
I did like the venue itself though. I’d love to see a musical there with more diegetic scenes - Dreamgirls, La Cage etc. Bit sad I missed their Cabaret!

Thankful, the Lido can’t be blamed for the shoddy Rocky Horror as that was just the terrible UK tour doing a Paris stop. I saw Cabaret in the Lido in 2022 and it was fab. I know the lure of the Imelda Dolly will be strong but I’m hopeful the Paris production will get a terrific actress for the main role and make the journey worth doing.

I'm also seeing Les Mis in November at the Châtelet so have booked to see Caroline O'Connor at the Lido 2 as well. EUR90 for table seating is a bargain compared to Imelda's London run.
I love Caroline O'Connor having seen her in Damn Yankees, Budgie, Matador, Mack and Mabel, On The Town and in concert.

I notice it has the same choreographer (Stephen Mear) and designer ( Peter Macintosh) as the 2009 Regents Park Open Air theatre's production which won the Olivier for it's choreography the following year. I wonder if it will be a replica for this version.
